Hi,

This is a brick wall for me.  My 3x Gt Granny was born around 1828 - Mary McMurray in  Fermanagh, married and moved to Greenock.  Her husband was George Sweeney, Mary had her last child in 1867 and one of her children died in 1868, she is not down as deceased on this child’s death certificate.

In 1874 George dies and he is a widower, I have looked everywhere for Mary’s death Certificate as I do not know her parents names, it is this information that I need, I have all her children etc, if anyone can help I would be so grateful.

Thanks
Kathy

Hello All,

I have not found Jane’s birth certificate nor her parents marriage, and not for the want of trying, I have the red eyes to prove it.

James was married before and had two sons Matthew and James.

Thank you all for all your help it was greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Kathy

Hi

There is no marriage date on either John or Elizabeth Jnr’s birth certs, the 1856 Greenock birth is not Jane’s, I have tried lots 1855-1857 Glasgow with various spellings oh Flannigan but cannot find it, I was very surprised that the parents marriage wasn’t on the births, but neither does it say illegitimate 🙈🙈🙈

Hi

Thank you all so much, my 2x gt Grandfather now has a sibling, I am so happy.

I cannot find a marriage for Elizabeth and James, (although he was quite a bit older than her). Nor can I find a birth for their first born Jane, I have the births for the other children.

I wonder if they even got married?  I know James had a previous wife and family.

Thanks
Kathy

Hello all,
James died in 1899 in Greenock, both his parents Samuel and Jane we were deceased at the time of his marriage in 1855.  John Mitchell as mentioned on a previous message died in 1857, his parents were Thomas Mitchell and Ann Hart, so not a brother or Father to my James Mitchell

Thanks
Kathy

Hello all

I first pick James up in 1855 when he married Roseann, James’ parents were Samuel Mitchell and Jane Elliott, interestingly none of the children were called Samuel, they were Jane, Roseann, James, Helen and Ann, Roseann snr’s parents were Willliam and Rose.  James was 24 when he married.  Jane was born in Fermanagh and Roseann, Derry.

Thanks
