« on: Monday 14 January 13 11:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All
Leslie Moyle b1893 in Helston Cornwall would have been 18 in 1911. I am not asking for any look up but would like to know if there are any records for that year if he was in the Navy.
If you could point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it.

Canada / Help in finding missing Charles Henry Vincent
« on: Tuesday 02 October 12 09:42 BST (UK)  »
Help with finding Charles Henry Vincent who was born in England in 1877. (Parents Charles Henry Vincent and Mary Ann Tolley)
He married Julia Harriet Adey in 1898 and they had 2 children. Sometime after the 1901 census in England he left his family and went to Canada and was not heard of by his family any more.
His Grandson believes Charles's father banished him and that he joined the Canadian Mounties.
I have found a record of the 1906 census for Manitoba where it would appear that this could be him as his age would be correct now married with a son.

1906 census for Dauphin Manitoba
Charles H Vincent age 29
Rosa SCW age 29
George Percy age 3mths

Could any record of him entering Canada or of the marriage be found this may help?
I do not have access to Canadian records so any help would be much appreciated.

Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark / Robins chimney sweeps coincidence or not
« on: Saturday 18 August 12 09:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi all
During my research into my GG Grandfather William Robins b cir 1826 in Guernsey CI and died in Cerne Abbas Dorset 1906 was a Chimney Sweep all his life.
I have come across 2 Robins living in Emsworth Hampshire in the 1841 51 61 census. They are Walter and Charles both born Guernsey CI and are both recorded as Chimney Sweeps. Is this just a coincidence or are they all brothers with the same trade.
William had 3 children Susan b 1854 in Allington Bridport Dorset (my G Grandmother) William Henry b 1857 also Allington and Elizabeth b 1863 in Emsworth but baptised in Allington. With the birth of Elizabeth in Emsworth were the family visiting their relatives there or is this just another coincidence or are they not related at all.
Any help is much appreciated.

Armed Forces / Identify this uniform in 1919
« on: Monday 30 April 12 14:49 BST (UK)  »
Could you please identify this uniform so I can try and connect this relative. I believe it to be Royal Artillery by the cap badge but would like confirmation of this. If the writing at the bottom could be decifered it would also be a help I can read the date 20/10/19 and the name Ern but not sure about the rest.
Any help greatfully received.

Cheshire / Death at the Cheshire Showground 1930
« on: Tuesday 03 April 12 09:23 BST (UK)  »
Hi all
I recently received a rather crumpled photocopy of a newspaper obitury for George Vincent of Churton who died age 76 on the Cheshire Agricultural Society Showground in 1930. The headline is Died at the Cheshire Show.
I would like to obtain a better copy and need pointing in the right direction as to where this can be found or does anyone have any knowledge of this incident.

In hope
Len
