Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Mills Marriage
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 14:31 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help me find the marriage of Edwin Mills (born abt 1832 monmouthshire) and Sarah ? (born abt 1841 also monmouthshire).  I have searched and searched to no avail!

they had a daughter in about 1869 or something - all a bit confusing as there seems to be a mix up with her ages on the 1881 and 1871 census'.  Anyway, I hope someone can help me, if you need any other info please dont hesitate to contact me. Thank you ??? ???

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / SAUNDERS, Sarah
« on: Friday 06 June 08 13:17 BST (UK)  »
I have a Sarah Saunders that was married to a William Giles (marriage at Cricklade, wilts, 08/11/1837) but that is all the information I have for her.  William later married an Elizabeth Brownett - I have info on her, but I just don't know about Sarah - I don't even have any dates for her.  I believe she is either from Glos or Wilts.  Can anyone help me?
William was born in 1812 (somewhere!) and his father was born in Cricklade.

Can anyone help me please?

Wiltshire / St Sampson, Cricklade GILES
« on: Friday 07 September 07 14:06 BST (UK)  »
I have built up quite a big family tree (my fathers side).  Most of my ancestors seem to come from the St Sampson parish of Cricklade.  Surname is GILES.  I've got as far back as c1670ish with a Zacharia Giles.
I need to get over to Cricklade to check out all sorts of resources so I can fill in so much information that I have missing, but I wondered if anyone knew about the churchyard of St Sampson?  Is there a list of names of those that are buried there?  I did contact the priest of the church but no-one has replied as yet.

I also understand that some of the churchyard fell into a quarry in the '60's!!

I hope someone can help me.
Thank you
Miranda.

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / info on Cinderford Iron Works please (1871)
« on: Sunday 01 October 06 16:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Cinderford Iron Works?  My great-great grandfather Charles Giles is listed as living there in the 1871 census.  Would love to know a little about the area.  Sadly I cannot get over there at the present time.  Any info would be much appreciated.  Charles was a Coalminer.
cheers

Gloucestershire / Knight-Barnards in Rodborough/Stroud
« on: Thursday 17 February 05 11:39 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a Thomas Knight-Barnard (the name could have been either knight or barnard! really not sure).  He was definately living on Rodborough Common at some point in the early 1900's in a large house thought to be called Ravenswood or something like that.
