Staffordshire / Re: Help finding Elizabeth Badkin

Thank you, I managed to find the  baptism record for Frances Poole/Badkin on Family search. Given the dates it seems there is a possibility of a connection.
However, I couldnt find anything else in Burton Under Needwood for Badkins myself after another look, though there were a few in the General Stafford area, though none for an Elizabeth  :-[

Staffordshire / Help finding Elizabeth Badkin

Hi, Ive come to quite a dead end with one of my ancestors, Mrs Elizabeth Badkin (circa 1770)
Ive found a marriage record for her to Thomas Burton in 1792 in Burton Under Needwood, Staffordshire but can not find anything even remotely similar to her name for a birth/christening record... I've tried exhausting all possibilities with ancestry.com and the family search .org website with no luck. Usually I'd get a 'hit' with at least similarities, but no such luck with even that which has me puzzled ???
Any thoughts or tips for other angles to try would be greatly appreciated, Thanks :)

Thankyou Annette, yes it does seem that this family does match up as quite likely :)
I hadn't seen that census record in my million searches, so Im glad you have come across it!
Will have a look on ancestry for it now, Thanks so much for the help :)

Westmorland is stated as his place of birth in 1861, 1871 and 1901. 1881 and 1891 is listed as Durham where he was then residing.

Thanks Trish, Im still not sure for certain which Jonathan Bell it is. With him listing his place of birth as Kirkby Stephen in later census records from 1861 onwards, it has threw me a little. I'll keep on digging, and may need to order up some certs as you've suggested :)

Thanks Annette,
If that is all correct, do you think that Jonathan (1834) put his place of birth in later cansus records as Kirkby Stephens, not Durham simply because he was christened there? This is why I thought the Jonathan and Ann Moss married in Kirkby Stephen, may be a possibility as his parents?

Thank you, and yes I see what you mean. It still has me stumped on which would be the correct parents to follow, as there are now 3 Jonathan Bells that could possibly be his father. I'll keep hunting for clues that may lead me the right way :)

I haven't found a family that fit Jonathan's birth place as Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland. He puts this as his birth for a lot of his census records, and ive found the christening record that fits this aswell  ???
