Suffolk / Re: Death Cert - Inquest Help Please

Many thanks for your reply.

I have now resolved this. I tried one of the offices and was referred to another, then a library and finally had success.

I was able to obtain a photocopy of the newspaper report.

A bit long winded and round the houses but I got there in the end!

Kent / Names in Kent
« on: Monday 09 April 07 12:58 BST (UK)  »
I have just started research into my Kent line of Grigsby.

I have a Jesse Grigsby born Marden. He married a Mary Waterhouse in Maidstone reg district 1843.

They had a daughter Mary Ann ( Ellen on most things  ::) ) who married into my Sheldricks.

Does anyone have a connection with Grigsby in Marden?

Diane :)

Suffolk / Death Cert - Inquest Help Please
« on: Friday 30 March 07 16:41 BST (UK)  »
I've received the death cert today of my gt.gt.grandmother Mary Ann Everett (nee FOOTER).

She died in 1926 in Hopton of an accidental fall. It appears there was an inquest to conclude it was accidental.

Can anyone help me with how to find if there is a newspaper story for this.

She died 16/7/1926 aged 81, inquest was held 19th.

Many thanks for any help or advice on this.

Hi Nick,

Nothing really to add at present, but I have had a fairly good connection recently to the Smith side.

With you and this other chap now I have given the line a dusting down.

Hoping to shed more light on this lot.

Keep in touch

Diane :)

Thanks Frances, think that may be my only course of action, although the name I want is SMITH!!!

Still I was once reliabley informed only 2 families of Smiths were at any one time there so I may be lucky :)

Think it may be Nick.

Just looked on my 1841 census and she was 6.

Father William. Mother Ann ?

Wow that look promising.

I have hardly anything on this lot as until the 1841 I didn't know who her parents were!

I even had somebody check Long Crendon records in the RO to try and find her baptism.

That will be brilliant.

Now I really mist go to bed!!!

Thanks Nick

Diane :)

Hi Nick

That sounds good.

I recently found them in 1841 first info with the parents on!  Seemed to have died in between 1841/51

Mine is Elizabeth Arnott (she married a chap called Saw and was widowed with a child) she then married Mark Smith, they had Edwin, my gtx 2 grandfather.

I don't have her death cert but she appears to have died between 1881/91 as does Edwin!

Elizabeth was a lacemaker.

I will get the info out tomorrow and post more detail.

Off to bed in a mo.

Speak soon

Diane :)
