Tyrone / Re: Was there a church at Mulnagore, Co Tyrone
« on: Tuesday 09 October 12 11:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi, my great great grandfather William Morrow Cunningham was born in Mulnagore to John Cunningham and Hannah Morrow about 1844. I have found a record of a John Cunningham farmer in the area but not much else. The Morrows also seem to have family in the Mulnagore region too. William Morrow emigrated as a 19 year old to Australia with a sponsor Janet Watt who paid 5 pound. Another emigration record indicates William was a lbrouer sponsored by Samuel Watt who also sponsored on the same voyage Mary Watt 48 servant Dungannon, Thomas Watt 26 laborer Dungannon, Eliza Watt 22 servant County Tyrone, Margaret jane Watt servant aged 20 Ireland, Rochardson Hinchey aged 24 Laborer Ireland and my GG Grandad William M Cunningham 19 Ireland.

I am looking for any additoinal information anyone can provide on the Cunningham family or Morrow families of Mulnagore Ireland.

Hello

I am seeking information on my great great great grandfather John Cunningham who was a farmer of Mulnagore in 1844 when my grandad William Morrow Cunningham was born- his mum was Hannah Morrow. William emigrated to Australia aged 19 in 1863 his death certificate indicates he was born in Mulnagore to John a farmer and Hannah. I have a will of John Cunningham in 1864 but with a wife Isabella and childern James and Elizabeth with an executor William Morrow so i assume this is my John who has remarried after Hannah died. I would love any information on this family as I am having a dreadful time tracking them down.

Many thanks

I have a Christian Godfried Winckler born to Christian and Elizabeth Winckler in 1829 St Pancras He was baptised on 14th June 1829 and his father is listed as a piano forte maker. CJTW could well have been a cousin or perhaps a brother if it not for the fact that Christian and Eliza are noted as alive in the 1851 and 1861 census. Christian and Eliza had a daughter Elizabeth Lucy b 1826 which would suggest a connection to Lucy Free. It makes some sense to me that Christian and Lucy Free who married in 1793 were the parents of Christian who married Elizabeth Ashby and had at least 2 children Christian b 1829 and Elizabeth Lucy b 1826. Charles is their contemporary and may have well been a cousin as he was clearly to born out of wedlock. As these Wincklers come from the same area as CJTW St Pancras and given the link with piano making it would be unusual that there was  not some family connection there.

The Fanny Harris mentioned is the daughter of Lucy Harris who is the duaghter of Samuel Harris and sarah Light. Fanny I believe was born abt 1840 in London . She is mentioend as living with my husbands great great grandad William Henry Harris in the 1861 english census. My notes indicate that Fanny, Agnes and William Henry their cousin were living with their aunt Ann Harris a pastry cook and confectioner in 1861 at 114 High St Stalbridge.
I do not have birth dates for Fanny or Agnes. Ann was listed as married in 1861 but I cannot find a husband for her.

HI

Charlotte was the daughter of Samuel Harris and Sarah Light. Charlotte was born abt 20th june 1813 and married william Pomeroy. We descend from her brother Mark Light Harris. Samuel Harris was born 27/12/1774 in Stalbridge and married Sarah light dtr of Mark Light and Mary on 11/4/1796 in Lyndlinch Dorset. Samuel was the son of  George Harris and Mary Duffet. His siblings were Jenny born abt 22/5/1766, Thomas born abt 31/12/1767, Phillip born 1771, George born abt 20/5/1775, Daniel born abt 27/4/1779 and Ann 11/5/1772. George and Mary were married in Stalbridge on 15/7/ 1765. Mary was the daughter of John Duffett and Tamar Jeanes. George was the son of George Harris born abt 8/7/1714 and Mary Beesley born 1717. His siblings were Jenny born 9/7/ 1743, Thomas b 1746, Samuel b 12/7/ 1748, Mary 12/3/1749. This George { 1714} was the son of James Harris and Melior Randal. James was born 1683 Stalbridge and died abt 1730. Melior was born abt 1687 in Stlabridge and died therein 1756. They had George and William [ 9/3/1707],Betty [ 28/6/1711] , James [ 3/5/ 1716] Hannah [ 25/6/1723], Joseph [ 19/6/1725],Samuel [ 20/1/1729] and ann [ 1736]. We have not been able to go back further but have identified a Haddy harris in the doomsday Book from Dorset which may well be the ancestor of this family line.

We have a family line that goes to South Africa a few generations on. Would be keen to swap info.
