« on: Thursday 02 June 22 14:06 BST (UK) »
just wondering if anyone can help ?
Gordon Monk, civilian death December 1940
on Dec 21st an anti-aircraft shell fired from the Rowley Hills, at Enemy bombers heading for Liverpool, failed to explode and fell back to earth and went straight down the chimney of the Boat Inn Tividale. Gordon monk lived nearby
He was buried at Dudley Cemetery. His stone says it was erected by the home guard..was this normal for a civilian death ??
Any help much appreciated
