iv just put up a thread asking the same question.............sorry didnt see your thread first
my dad was also a sapper in the royal engerneers i have my dads release papers but not his army records
how do you obtain these

my dad was in world war 2 and it says on his release papers that he was a sapper
his army number was 14831720
he was called up in 1944
his name was lewis gibson and apparently made a sargent
im not sure what regiment he was in but i know he was in egypt for a while
i think it says royal engineers
