Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Please help - Repair and Colour?
« on: Monday 21 January 08 15:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Everyone,
I am hoping you can help?
Anything you can do to repair it would be brilliant...
Can I ask for some colour too...
It is of my Mother and paternal Grandmother. If it helps, both had olive skin and dark, almost jet black hair. I have no idea when this was taken? but I am told it was taken in the Warrick Farm area of Sydney? My grandmother was born 1907 and died 1964. My mother was born 1923 and died 1983
Thanking you for your time

Hello Everyone,
This is a photograph of my Grandfather, My three Aunts, Two Uncles and the little feller on the end is my big brother!
Is was taken in a back lane in Chippendale, Sydney, Aust and I have been told the year was around 1947?. I have also been told that the photo was only from the knees up as no one including my grandfather owned a pair of shoes... and I think my life is tough LOL.
I would appreciate anything you can do to liven it up for me?
Thanking you in advance

Hello,
This is a photo of my Great Grand Uncle and his wife. I am hoping someone will be able to spare the time to brighten it up a bit? The resolution is very low but sadly it is all I have as the original was destroyed in a flood. As it is of very poor quality, I will completely understand if it is not worth the time and effort. Just thought I would put it up and see.

Thank you for taking the time to read my ramble

Cheers

The Lighter Side / Fantastic People
« on: Thursday 22 March 07 02:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hello to all,
I have been a member for around 2 years but I am still a newbee!
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes.....
I just wanted to say thank you to the members of the site as they would have to be the most helpful, happy bunch of people I have ever encounted on or off the net. Never have I been made to feel silly for the requests I have made (although in hindsight, I have asked for some very stupid things) Each and every time I have been gently guided in the right direction by undrstanding individuals.
I dont want to go on and sound to mushy, but it just needs to be said sometimes.....You guys are the best!

Cheers

Berkshire Completed Look ups / Joseph Emblen - 1807
« on: Saturday 26 February 05 00:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am seeking any information re: Joseph Emblen: b. abt 1807

I believe he was christened on: 30 August 1807 in Uffington, Berkshire, England.

His parents I believe to be: Henry Emblen and Mary Lewis.

He Married: Charlotte Elizabeth Webb (do not no the year but assume abt 1830 in UK?)

His Children: William Edward Francis - Abt 1831, Caroline - Abt 1841, George - Abt 1843 (I think that he had further children who perhaps died before he came to Australia?)

Occupation: Sawyer

Joseph and his family were Assisted Immigrants to Australia and arrived here in 1857 on the ship Alfred. His age was listed as 48 and his wifes was 44.

His Son William Edward Francis was married at the time and his family were also on the same ship.

I hope that I have made it clear and easy to understand?

Thank you
