I should note that the Boyles were catholic and the Bradley and Glenn Families are listed as COI.  Thanks again!

Derry (Londonderry) / Boyle, Glenn, Bradley Families

I would really appreciate some help with my family in Derry.  This is what I have so far:

Charles Boyle, son of Manus Boyle (unknown mother), married Mary Glenn on 1/22/1856 in a parish named St. Columbs.  Their address is listed as Londonderry.  Mary's parents were William Glenn and Susan Bradley.  I know her siblings were William, Susanna, Susan, Jane and John.  I don't know what happened to any of them, including her parents.  William, the father, was a rope spinner and I did locate him on a voter's committee roster as late as 1838.  I would LOVE to locate where he and his wife are buried and possibly who were both William's and Susan's parents.

When it comes to Charles, I can't locate anything on his father Manus or who his mother was.  I would greatly appreciate any one taking the time to help me locate this information.  Charles and Mary had several sons.  My line comes from Edward, born 1856 in the Long Tower Parish.  Edward passed away between 1891 and 1901.  I know he was living in Paisley, but I believe he was visiting family in Ireland when he passed away.  I couldn't locate a death cert in Scotland and his wife was buried at Hawkhead in Paisley without him and some of her children instead.  He is not recorded in any cemetery there.  I am also having trouble locating where his parents, Charles and Mary, are buried.

Phew!  That was a lot! :)  I've been looking for YEARS and you know how it goes.  You almost have to take a break before you get nutty.  I took a few months off and I am back at it again.  Thanks again to anyone who might be able to give me that one clue I have been searching for!

Derry (Londonderry) / Re: Boyle family Londonderry area

Have you ever located anything additional?  My Boyle family came from Derry as well.  My 3rd great-grandfather was Charles Boyle, son of Manus.  He married Mary Glenn and had what looks like 5 boys.  I am still trying to locate additional information.  Records show that they were married in the St. Columbs parish, but had their children in the Long Tower parish.  I am not located in Ireland and still get a a little confused with the parishes.  i wonder if your John Boyle was a brother of Manus?  I could never find any records on his existence, other than his name on Charles' marriage record.

Fermanagh / Re: Fermanagh Business Directories Lookup

Thank you both for responding so quickly!  This is a line that I have had difficulty with and I was just able to locate his birth place.  I originally thought he was from Scotland, where he died, but I was lucky enough to have received help from someone who located their military record which indicated "Boe, Fermanagh, Ireland".  I knew his father was a shoemaker from a Scottish census record.  I am much more familiar with the layout of the parishes, etc. in Antrim and Down.  This is the first ancestor that I know about to be from here and the geography has me a little confused.  I know he is protestant, so I will start calling the churches to see if they have any records.  Thanks again!

Fermanagh / Fermanagh Business Directories Lookup

Hello!  Would it be possible to do a lookup for any directories 1880 and prior for James Smith, a shoemaker?  Also, if it looks like they are connected to the Wilson family, I would greatly appreciate any info!

Fermanagh / Smith and Wilson Families

I would greatly appreciate anyhelp at all with this line.  I located a record for my 2nd great-grandfather, Thomas Smith or spelled Smyth, and found out he was a shoemaker in a place called Boe in the mid-1800's.  He was born in 1837 and was the son of James Smith (shoemaker) and Barbara Wilson. He was part of the Fermanagh Light Militia at 18 and then joined the Royal Scot Fusiliers. He fought in India and then moved to Paisley, Scotland.  I know he was protestant, but I do not know what church he attended.  I would love to be able to locate more information on his family.  His grandparent names, birth date, marriage date of his parents, etc.  I would love to see if I can locate where the family was buried.  I know he married Jane Roper, whom he met in Scotland, and passed away 1887 in Paisley.  Thank you for any information you may be able to help me locate!

Wow!  There is something I get a little confused about when it comes to the search on the site.  Sometimes I get certain records and when I perform the same search, they aren't there.  Thank you so much for finding this.  Any piece of info can be the break in the search and this might be it!

When it comes to where she was born, the 1901 census advised Dublin City.

There was such a big age difference between the two, I was surprised I didn't find her or maybe other siblings.  I know they were living on Dean Street and when I look up that street, there are several other O'Briens.  I would just love to connect them and maybe go back with them.  I know - King Brian would be a little hard to connect to, but how amazing would that be?!  :)  Thank you so much - it means a lot to know there are others out there wanting to know about their past like I do!

What a find!  I never thought to search for a Murray.  Even if it does not end up being him, it opens up a new door for me and I GREATLY appreciate all the look ups done.  It seems so odd to me that I cannot locate Sarah's baptism.  I looked at all O'Briens born in Dublin, RC, who in the 1839-1841 time period and no parents Murrough and Bridget.  I know she was born in Dublin.  Do you know if all the records have not been entered into the site?  Thanks again!
