I wish it was!  Unfortunately, I found out that Mary Ann married a James Bonner in Paisley, Scotland and that is where she passed away.  I don't know what happened to Catherine.  Maybe they are cousins?  Do you know anything about Matthew?

Thank you!

Thank you so much for getting with me!  I did not have Margaret and you never know what you may find with a little more knowledge. :)  After I posted this, I sent an e-mail to the church asking if they had any information on this family and the William buried there in 1861.  I still have not heard from them.  I hate that I miss the cutoff by three years.  I wish it was 1865 and I could order a death cert.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me!

I was afraid you would say that! :)  I really do appreciate the help and I will be crossing fingers that one day they scan the copies and make them available online.  I tried to locate a Tullow historical society.  It looks as if there is not one for Carlow.  Do you know if it is now defunct?

I never realized that I didn't respond and I apologize!  Unfortunately, this is not the same John.  I do appreciate you looking this up, though!  I just recently located a prison record that shows the birthplace for Murrough as Tullow.  Records are not online, so back to square one.  Thanks again!

Thanks!  Any idea on how to locate the records when you live out of the country?  Since RAOGK has closed down, doing research offline has been so difficult.  I appreciate it!

Armagh / McCann and McShane

I would appreciate any help into locating information on Bernard McCann and his wife Ann McShane.  I believe they were both Roman Catholics.

Bernard was born in 1833 and married Ann McShane sometime in the 1850's.  Ann was born in 1825.  I have not been able to locate either set of parents, unfortunately, or any records pertaining to their births, marriage or deaths.  They had three daughters that I have been able to locate:  Catherine, Mary Ann (born 1853) and Ellen (born 1863).

Most of the information I have located are from Scottish records,  My 2nd great-grandmother was Ellen McCann.  Her marriage record listed her parents names.

Thanks again!

Carlow / O'Brien Family

Hello!  I hope to receive a little help into the research of my 4th great-grandfather, Murrough O'Brien.  He was born in the early 1800's and was married to Bridget O'Meara.  The first information I have of him is on my 3rd great-grandmother's marriage record in Dublin, 1856.  His daughter, Sarah, has also been difficult to locate birth information.  Recently, I located a prison record in Dublin, 1868.  He is listed as being from Tullow and this is the first I have been able to link him anywhere.  I know that he was already living in Dublin as of 1840, around the year of birth for Sarah.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hello!  I am attempting to research my O'Brien line in Dublin and I just located a record for my 4th great-grandfather, Murrough O'Brien.  In it, it advises that he is from Tullow.  In your research, have  you come across any Murrough's in the area or even in your family?  He would have been born in the early 1800's.

I hope to hear from you, but i noticed that this post was from over a year ago.  Thanks again!

Thanks so much for looking!  They married in in COI, but after speaking with the RC church about the latter, they advised that it was common for inter-faith couples to marry in one and when they were ready to have children, they would marry in the husband's faith, which was catholic.  Both churches had the same parents listed in each record.  Just when things couldn't be more confusing, right? :)
