Good morning.....

Am having problems locating death of above Charles Dunbar - born @ K*nnethmont (c1816).....

In 1851 census, he was @ Fraserburgh (messenger @ arms/auctioneer) with wife and two children...

In 1861 census, he was @ Fraserburgh (writer/public notary) with wife and various children....

In 1871 census, Mary was widow/grocer....

Last child, Charles born @ Fraserburgh (1864) and wedding of eldest son William Robert Dunbar/Elizabeth Smith @ Fraserburgh (1871) has father - now Charles Edward Gordon Dunbar, messenger @ arms, deceased, so looking @ 1864-1871 "window"

Have tried every variation of Charles Dunbar (ScotlandsPeople) for death and/or will = nothing....

Death of Mary Dunbar nee Fyvie @ St Nicholas (1909) has her as widow of Charles Dunbar, writer

Any ideas/help would be appreciated......

Angus (Forfarshire) / James McGregor/Jean Brown @ Montrose
« on: Monday 02 February 09 17:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hi....

The above couple had five children - that I know about - @ Montrose : John (1816) + William (1819) + James (1821) + Alexander (1823) + Mary (1825-1878).....

From will of James I know he died @ Pettycur, Montrose (09/06/1839) and his widow died @ Montrose (07/06/1865), leaving all to be divided between children John, James, Alexander and Mary....

Am hoping someone can help re possible MI....

Hi.....

You have helped "clear up" one mystery.....I also found couple in 1841 census with whom I took to be a grandson, David Gordon.
I assumed he was son of daughter Ellen/Alexander Gordon, who now I know to be daughter by first wife, not Margaret Robertson.....

Understand, from will of David/Margaret, his children John and Ellen, were living @ Liverpool at time of his death (c1851).....
