I have been searching for Catherine Ferns Ryan for some years with no success. I dont know where to go next.
I wondered if it is possible to gain an SS Number?
This has been posted before, but I am trying again.
Catherine Ferns Ryan, born 1907  Uddingston, Lanark, Scotland. Emigrated 1929 via Quebec to the USA. No information after that. The last thing I can think of is an SS Number. Can anyone help, please? Thx. Kathy

Dunbartonshire / Michael Ryan, c 1850, Coppersmith, Greenock Old West
« on: Wednesday 04 April 18 15:01 BST (UK)  »
I am researching Michael Ryan whose occupation was a Coppersmith in Greenock, Old West. I believe Michael came from Clare, Ireland.
Anyone got any information on Michael?
And please, what would a coppersmith have made? I cant get anywhere on the internet apart from finding one company, William Hume, who employed Coppersmiths, but no further information on what this company made.
Also, was this a common occupation? Thx for help. Kathy. Any photo gratefully received too!

I am researching George Guthrie and his wife Margaret Holburn. George and family lived in Bridgeton, but suddenly I cant trace him anymore. Margaret survives into the 1881 census but then leaves a young family. I cant trace her either. Does anyone know if there was a flu epidemic or something that would have wiped out several members of the same family? In Bridgeton, Calton, Camlachie?
