Hi,

I am looking for my Great Great Grandfather James Doughty on the 1861 census.

He was born on 21 May 1847 in Suffield, Norfolk.

Unfortunately I am not too sure of his mothers name. I have found him on the 1851 census
(HO107/1809/103 p 2)
Here he is visiting his grandparents house, there are two daughters (Mary and Maria) and either of them could be his mother, I haven't found a father as yet.

I have tried using wildcards and I still cannot find him, I would be very interested to know what his mothers name is and whether she is with the father in the 1861 census.

Many thanks for any help you can give me!  :)

Hi, I have two pictures here of my relatives, I was wondering whether anything can be done with them as the colour is not too good, is there any way of making the people a bit clearer?.

Many thanks!  :)

Hi,

I am looking for my 3 x great grandfather on the 1841 and 1851 censuses but I am not having much luck. His name was Peter Bullock and he was born in 1803 in Felmingham, Norfolk. I am not sure if he was married in these censuses or not as he did not marry my 3 x great grandmother until he was 48 years old between the 1851 and 1861 census. So he may have been married beforehand?.  His parents names were Peter and Mary Bullock but I very much doubt he was living with them. I have also wondered what the best way to search the censuses is as I do come across frequent spelling mistakes. What is the best way to discover a census entry if the surname is misspelt?. Do you just think of variants of the surname and see if it comes up with anything?.

Many Thanks! :)

Berkshire Completed Look ups / Bowmans in 1871 Census *COMPLETED MANY THANKS*
« on: Thursday 30 December 10 19:10 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for my Great Great Grandparents on the 1871 census and I am having a bit of trouble. Their names are Elizabeth and James Bowman. Elizabeth was born in 1849 in Kingsland, Middlesex and James was born in 1846 in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. They were married in 1869 in Middlesex and in the 1881/1891/1901 censuses they were living in Berkshire so I thought it would be best to post this here. One of their children Ellen E Bowman was born in 1871 in Surrey.. So they may have been in Surrey at the time of the census.. If that is the case, I apologise for putting this post in the wrong place!. There are a Elizabeth and James Bowman living in Hackney on the 1871 census but they are not my Great Great Grandparents.

Thanks for any help you can give me, I am at a loss! :)

Oxfordshire Completed Look Up Requests / Help needed *completed many thanks*

I have found my grandmothers family on the 1911 census. It was before she was born but it shows her siblings and parents. It also mentions on there that one sibling had died. Unfortunately this sibling was born and subsequently died between the 1901 and 1911 census. I would really like to find out who they were but as my grandmother and all her siblings are now deceased I cannot find out from them, I do not know if  this sibling was male or female or even their name. Is there any way I can find this information out. My grandmothers family lived in Wootton, Oxfordshire so that is why I have posted this here.

Many thanks
