Thanks for replies folks, seems none of you feel the need to back books up on external hardrive so i wont either, yes it is nice to have your library right there in your hands, it was just a question i wanted to ask about back up of books i've bought and i think you have all answered the question :) thank you all.

LizzieW, I was late getting into kindle, love the feel of book in hands, but since our daughter bought me a kindle I love it, so easy & comfortable to read in chair or in bed and of course you take your library with you when you go away, I was curious about storing my book on external hardrive but, if its backed up through amazon account do I realy need to? Perhaps not but I do love my history books and would hate to lose them for any reason, not a techno person at all so just wondered about storing on external hardrive.
All the best to all.

Technical Help / Kindle back up
« on: Friday 15 October 21 08:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, just asking for advice about my kindle, my daughter bought me one 4 years ago and i've bought between 15-20 history books that i can read over & over, still adding to collection, my question is, is it worth putting books on external hardrive as was suggested in article i came across, my daughter says its not worth the effort, i dont even know if it can be done as easy as article suggested, hoping some one can tell me.
All the best.

Boo thank you for reply, i hope ship models were recovered at some time, it would be sad to think they would be broken up if they could not be sold on after theft.
I dont know any thing about other merchant ship but SS Wentworth sailed in convoy ONS 5 April 1943,  the battle for this convoy was a turning point in the battle of the Atlantic, after convoy ONS5 Atlantic the German U-boats never again dominated the convoy wars, yes we did lose ships in convoys but never the same amount as pre-1943.
All the best to all.

Hi all, some time in 90s? The Newcastle Chambers of Commerce was opened, inside the building foyer a largish model ship was on display, at some time it was stolen and I wondered if this model ship was ever recovered.
The ship was the Wentworth a merchant ship, my late father sailed on her in Atlantic convoy ONS5 1943 UK to St Johns Nova Scotia, it was attacked along with several other merchant ships between 5-6 May.
Always wondered if police ever recovered the m8del ship.
All the best.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Photo enlargement
« on: Friday 08 May 20 15:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, I would like to ask a question, my grandaughter has drawn me a copy of this photo which I sent to her
( it was a screen shot) I hoped to get A2 enlargment but she dosn't know the resolution or could tell me how big it would enlarge to, I know I would lose quality getting to large a photo but is thier a way to find out?
Sorry if this is a silly question but I was born 200 yrs to late, techno goes right over my head. Attached copy of screen shot.
My grandaughter drew this copy in an Ipad and does not know Dpi?
Thanks, all the best Derek.
