Hi Tracey,

I  think we might have a connection, My G G Grandfather was Benjamin Thomas, parents Maria and Levi. My Benjamin was born 1852 in Wales arrived in Aust sometime before 1879, married Alice Cox in Sydney in 1879. and died Arakoon NSW 1916.

Could you let me if you feel there is a connection or not,

Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / Whitby Gazette 1903 Hannah Breckon
« on: Sunday 11 September 05 01:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I believe  that there is a death notice in the Whitby Gazette of Hannah Breckon who died on 29 June 1903 aged 72yrs.

Would anybody have an idea on how I can find out the wording of the death notice, any clues of where I can find a copy of the original newpaper.

Any idea or suggestion on finding the actual notice would be great. I think the notice is that of my GGGGMothers death

On the 23 Dec 1841 a ship "William Jardine" arrived in Sydney  Australia, on board was John Williams COX a married male  49yrs of age  Carpenter, his parents John and Anne were both deceased. The ship had left Plymouth on 2 Aug 1841

John  Williams Cox wife Charlotte had been "left in England". The records state that John Williams native place was Harrow on the Hill Msex.

Also on the ship were John Williams daughters Susannah 21yrs,  Eliza 16ys and son John 18yrs their Native place is recorded as  St George the Martyn Ln.

Can anybody give me a clue as to how I could find out when Charlotte died , I cannot trace a record of her arriving in Australia, or any information of John Williams parents John and Ann. and lastly where is St George the Martyn

Thanks
