I would hope that the record on deceasedonline also contains the plot reference so that the grave can be found.
My local cemetery is on deceasedonline and you get a list of all the people buried in the same grave, but it may not be the same for all cemeteries, or perhaps he is buried alone in a private grave.

Findagrave memorials are all created by volunteers. If your grandfather is not on the site it just means that nobody has created a memorial page for him yet.
Now that you know where he is buried you can make a memorial for him on findagrave and put in a photo request.
The information on deceasedonline should indicate whether he is in a common grave or a private grave. If he is buried alone or with other family members then it is a private grave. If he is buried with a lot of unrelated people, all with different surnames, then it is a common grave.

This is one of my favourites :

In ever loving memory of our darling baby Blanche Rose who fell asleep Feb. 15th 1898 aged two years.
Adieu sweet babe short was thy stay
Just lent awhile and called away
Thy angel face we all did see
But oh how soon deprived of thee
Sleep on dear babe and take thy rest
God calleth those he loveth best

Public graves and pauper graves are not the same thing. There may be some paupers in a public grave, but most of the occupants came from working families who paid their own funeral and burial costs (including the coffin). It was just that a private grave was prohibitively expensive for ordinary working people.

My gt gt gt grandmother, Mary Follett, was born illegitimate in 1803, as indicated in the Baptism Register. Her second marriage in 1851 named her father as John Perham. There were some Perhams in the village, not connected to my ancestors, so I don't think the father's name was invented. I wasn't able to identify John Perham - too little to go on with just a name.

"they don't check what is in the background and the photo includes a rubbish bin! "

If there's a rubbish bin in shot there's not much you can do about it. Sometimes the bin is right beside the grave and I will take photos from different angles so at least some of them won't have the bin in them.
The other day I photographed a gravestone that had a big black rubbish bag beside it which was too heavy for me to move. Maybe I'll remember to take another photo when the bag is removed. When I was using a computer I was able to 'clone' an area of grass over any unsightly objects in the photo, but I don't think I can do that on a mobile phone.

The standards seem to vary from one extreme to the other don't they.  The way some people make photo requests is another thing to ponder.  I've seen examples of multiple requests for a plot because it has Tom, Dick and Harry in it.  In that scenario I make one request and add a message with all the names rather than 3 requests and no message at all.

I'm about to fulfil a request like that. Perhaps the requester doesn't know that all three people are in the same grave. I don't mind because I will get three Volunteer Photo credits when I fulfil the request. I found the grave the other day but the sun was shining through foliage onto the grave and the photos looked awful so I'm going back to get better ones.

Have you tried deceasedonline?

https://www.deceasedonline.com/

They mostly have cemeteries, which have unconsecrated areas for Catholics and other faiths.

My maternal grandfather was one of 15 children. The first was born in 1875 when great grandmother was 23, and she didn't leave off until she was 46. The menopause must have been a great relief to her. She must have had the constitution of an ox because she lived until she was 92. My mother remembered her as a tiny woman dressed all in black and looking like Queen Victoria. Her husband, a blacksmith and farmer, had died many years before when he was 72.

On the other side, my paternal grandparents had three children in three years. The doctor told granddad if he didn't ease up he would kill his wife. They had only two more children at longer intervals. Grandmother died aged 68 before I was born.
