Well spotted - no birthplace shown but a strong possibility. The image has no birthplaces shown for any of the children but handwritten down the side is this annotation:
"Not recorded but baptized and registered in the hospital"

To a large extent, I ignored his birthplace and tried the following searches - all using 2 years either side of 1847
James only with mother Sophia then checking birthplaces from the list produced. Anything that looked promising - I checked to see if Sophia and the husband shown were married between 1847-1851 and if she was Sophia Hunt
Hunt only with same criteria as above
Sophia Hunt marriages in the London/Middlesex area 1847-1851 and then tracking them on the 1851 census to see if they had a James with them
Deaths 1847-1851 - there were 3 in the London/Middlesex area but there are no ages shown on the index for that period so impossible to know

I suspect mum Sophia either died or married.
There are several Sophia Hunt marriages on freebmd from 1847-1851 and it may be that James is shown on the 1851/61 census under her married name
If she died - he may have been taken in by relatives and entered under their name

Just a thought - if George and Alice only married in 1886, is it possible that 7 year old George was from his first marriage
If so - a copy of his birth cert will give the name and maiden name of George snr's first wife

In 1901 - There is a Robert & Annie Kenny in Ayr but they don't have a daughter Alice. They do have a 4 year old daughter called Annie
