Louisa Margaret Taylor died 21 July 1922 age 52  and is buried at the New Cemetery Johannesburg--now I understand known as Brixton Cemetery. I wonder if the graves here may have been photographed . If so how would i go about finding her headstone.Went on to the Brixton Site but no  pointers there.

South Africa / Marriage of Frederick Taylor
« on: Monday 28 March 11 08:51 BST (UK)  »
Frederick Ambrose Taylor was born in Yorkshire ,England in 1896. He lived in South Africa until  around 1917 when he moved to England to take part in WW1 . He lived with his Parents George and Louisa Taylor and brother George (born 1908 in South Africa) at 124 Railway Cottages,Newtown Johannesburg. Family stories say he had  a wife and child. But when he remarried in England in the early1920 s he describes himself as a widower.

I would like to find details of his marriage etc in South Africa and grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

George and Mary Taylor lived at John street Lofthouse/Loftus (near Guisborough)for much of their life and had 7 children. He was born 1830 and died 1913 while Mary was born1835 and died 1903. Both are buried in the Cemetery in East Loftus.
Their children are
Robert b1860 in Esington,Mary b 1862,Joseph b 1865 at Boulby,Harriet b 67 at Boulby,George b 1869 a Railway stoker who goes to South Africa, Lucy b 1872 in Loftus and Frederick b 1874 in loftus.
In the 1911 census George b 1830 is living with his daughter Harriet .like many in the area he worked in the Alum mines. In 1911 she was 44 and a dressmaker. He was still working in his 70s as a brakesman.

What happened to their descentants??---Would be interested in learning more about the family.

In 1818 Mary Hetherington married William Hurst born 1791. They lived on 24 acres of Toppit mountain west of Tempo. They had 6 children. George b1822,thomas b 1824, William b 1830 ,Grace,Mary Jane b1836 and Elizabeth b 1838. I am related to William and we have been able to build up a picture of his family. Would love to learn more of the Hetherington or other Hurst families.
