 Hello
Jane Bromley died February 1869 age 38  .  An inquest was held into her death. On the death Certificate it says inquest held 25 Feb 1869. Cause of death i cant quite make out but it says accelerated by want of sufficient food after Labour .
She was buried 28 Feb1869 in Camden London . Address at death 4 Circus Road London. I wonder if the inquest  might be recorded in a newspaper?

thank you .

Thank you  . Yes  on reading again from Marriage cert for Minnie it could well be Navvy. You may well have made a breakthrough . Sorry yes did mean the 1911 census.
I found one possible Christening that may be Minnie in Cheshire --baptised 27 March 1893 at Chester.
Parents a Thomas and Jane White.

Hello
I am not sure which board this should be on --hope this one is  ok.
Minnie May White is shown on the 1901 census for Hessle Yorkshire as a 20 year old servant born Runcorn.
From the 1939 Return a DOB of 29 May 1891 is given. However I cannot  find an entry for that date on the GRO indexes. ( She died 1970 in Nottinghamshire)

On 12 Aug 1911 she marries Joseph Dunbabin ( b 18/4/1884) a Navy Ganger in Scotland. Wedding at St Peters Epizerpal church Inverkeithing . Record on Scotland's People.  Her address is given as Hessle Yorkshire which ties in with the 1911 census return. No trace of her on a 1901 return. Her marriage record
shows the parents of Minnie as Thomas White a Navy Ganger and mother a Jane White nee Sharp.
One of the witnesses was a Rose White who could be a sister . The other witness was a William Hodgkinson.
from searching on line there is a possible marriage of a Thomas White and Jane Sharp in 1883  in Stockton Durham . If correct possible there were a number of children by 1891 when Minnie is born.
I have been unable to find Rose Whites birth.

I would appreciate help in finding Thomas ,jane and Rose and any records.(I can trace Minnie and Joseph forward )
At a loss  as to why i can not find any records for her parents.
thank You .

Worcestershire / Re: Industrial School Madresfield

Thank You for this. I had found a Bertha ,parents  Jane ( Foreman) and James Bromley a bricklayer and as they both die with in a few years of her birth thought it possible. Jane Bromley in 1869 and James in 1879 ( born Gloucestershire 1821)  . Both buried Camden

But no luck in finding Bertha on any 1871 census for London. And Those i did find  for other parts of country don't fit. A mystery. Perhaps her surname was misspelt.  Can not find the James mentioned above on any 1871 census either

Have  found the other birth you mention --Bertha Eleanor --and she goes on to marry in 1892 in London

What surprised me was that children from London would be sent so far away. Never stop finding new information on this site . Thank you .

 hello
I  am hoping someone can tell me how to access records from an industrial school in Madresfield in Worcestershire in 1881.

The 1881 census for that are shows one of the children as Bertha Bromley age 13 from London . I am keen to find out when she was admitted and hopefully the names of her parents.

Many thanks

Thank you all.  Very grateful for you looking at this. I did not think the Richard /Catherine marriage .  was correct.
yes the free parish record for Averham is what lead me to question the Knessall marriage .
Syson makes more sense.

thank you for pointing me in the correct direction.

Nottinghamshire / Lee family Averham
« on: Sunday 14 January 24 17:33 GMT (UK)  »
hello
I am trying to trace the marriage of Richard Lee 1770-1851 born Averham and his wife  Mary ( surname unknown). Richard is the son of John Lee and Elizabeth(Mayfield). I have been using the Free Parish Register records for Averham.

Richard was baptised 30 June 1770 . He is on the Averham census for 1841 with Mary. She was buried 16 Feb 1842 averham.

Richard is on the 1851 census with his son Robert (a widower) and Richards grandchildren.
As no marriage is listed for Richard in Averham  as was traditional he will have married in he brides parish but I don't have that information.
Richard and Mary had at least 3 sons

There are some trees on line that say Richard Married Catherine Smith on 13 april 1789 in Mansfield . Its of course possible he did and Mary was a second wife but I have not been able to establish whether he married twice .
I would appreciate any help in trying to find a marriage for Richard and Mary  and establishing if he did marry twice .
Many Thanks
