I think this is a submitted genealogy so have no idea of it's validity or relevance(with no dates who knows how many Madoc/Madog ap Johns there were!)

He would have done very well to reach 1791 if he was sickly and indolent in 1753!

I wondered if the Howell John Howell(uncle) might be the brother of Thomas ap John ap Howell ap Madoc, but this seems the wrong generation. It's difficult without birth or marriage dates!

Are there any clues in the 1625 will of Gwenllian vch William. She seems pivotal if she is the same  person as the wife of David Morgan, remarried to John ap Madoc and who was the mother of Thomas Maddocks' illegitimate daughter G(w)ladys.

Perhaps also the Madocke ap John of the Vaugh(a)n connection is the father or son, rather than the same person as,John ap Madoc whose daughter marries Thomas Maddocks(aka Thomas ap John ap Howell ap Madoc?)

(My brain is beginning to hurt!)

It seemed to me that the genealogy referred to there possibly inserted a generation compared to my listing of that of Theophilus Jones, but I think this may be resolved below. The trouble is getting a confident handle on anybody's dates to lend credibility to the view.

There is a common start point assuming John Powell Madoc is John ap Howell ap Madoc

Your latest texts say that his great grandson,Thomas Madock, married the daughter of Jenkin Morgan,so we need to identify a son, grandson and great grandson.

The son appears to be Thomas ap John ap Howell ap Madoc as per the 1533 will quoted.Wife is not quoted, but other data suggests she is the daughter of John ap Madoc. This is the most difficult part as there appears a possible merging of two Madoc lines. The first daughter Gwladus surely doesn't(?) indicate that this is the Thomas who married Gwladys daughter of David Watkin as per the Llanansntffraed church memorial(various quotes from previous thread circa 1607-1618)

In looking for the grandson the natural inclination is to take the John Thomas from this will.I can't reconcile him with anyone, but I noticed on the church memorial (after "Thomas Madock m.a d. John Madoc"),it said Llewelyn m.and had issue ....Thomas Maddocks.Lord of Llanfrynach,m.a d. Jenkin Morgan. There is a son Llewelyn listed in the 1533 will.

This means the succession is I think:-
John ap Howell ap Madoc
Thomas ap John ap Howell ap Madoc(1533 will)-son
Llewelyn(ap Thomas ap John ap Howell ap) Madoc -grandson
Thomas  Maddocks(marries daughter of Jenkin Morgan)-great grandson
