Oh now that makes it all a bit more exciting!!  No wonder I'm having trouble with the parentage!!  (And no wonder it was all a bit of a secret within the family - no one knows anything about her and we only discovered her surname via the death certificate - sad really when it is only as recent as a grandparent).
At least with the names on the 1901 it may give me something to trace - I guess the next step is finding Elizabeth's parents?
Thank you so much again Carole.

Thank you for getting back to me Carole,

That is exactly what I had found - so I am glad that I'm on the right track.  I had ordered a copy of the birth certificate but maybe it has been lost in the post from England to Australia as this was quite some time ago.

Can anyone please help me!

I am trying to trace my husband's grandmother, Edith Booth.  Edith was born in 1899 in Runcorn, Cheshire.

According to her New Zealand marriage certificate, her mother was Elizabeth Booth and her father William Gayter.  But according to her New Zealand death certificate, her father was William Payter Booth.

At some point Edith has obviously left England and arrived in New Zealand, marrying Robert Oliver Millard and raising a family.

I would be grateful for any information.

Thanks

Dear Angie,

Thank you so very much for your reply - first time I've posted a message and had a response, so it's been a real bonus.

Appreciate you getting back to me - will take your advise and post some more on here and see what it brings me!  Fingers crossed.

Take care
Merrin

Hello there, I am certainly researching my husband's family tree - there is a Martha Millard from Somerset, c 1792 - Millard being her married name - is this a possibility?
