Jorose and Spendlove, thank you so much. No time to look at those now, but will in the next couple of days. I found Thomas jun in 1906, and he had a neice with him, a Fletcher, so thought it must be Charles daughter. Found her and family and bless them in 1911 in the 'how many children alive or dead' bit they had put '4 children in Canada' ;D . Bingo!

spendlove I cannot think how I missed that marriage - I looked all over for that ::). Anyway must go now, but I can't thank you all enough for your help :)

Hi Maureen

Just found them on the census (didn't realise before that I could get free access to Canadian cencuses :) ) I rejected them too as there were too many inconsistencies and also they were c of e
Thank you for confirming that. Now to look at Thomas.

Found Thomas junior in 1901. His wife Margaret J came out in 1885, so I expect they married in Canada. Cannot find him in 1891, but will persevere! Off to do other stuff for a while ;)

Hello again

I have had a look at Emma and Ellen using the info you kind people found, and I have a couple of questions ::)

Spendlove I found Ellen and family in Dorset in 1901 and 1911, but cannot find their marriage anywhere :-\

However ancestry suggested one I cannot access as I do not have worldwide - 'Elles Flitcher Binkley' mother Mary Ann Fletcher , born Nov 1862, arrival 1890, spouse Ewa E Binkley.
There must be several misprints in there :-\

Is there a chance that a kind person could have a look at that for me, if only to discount them.

Willsy did Mary Ann travel with the others to Canada? I am wondering whether to get a months worth of worldwide to chase this family and a few others I have in various far flung places, tho not sure how that would work. Anyway that's for another day.

That's brilliant you two - thank you so much. So Thomas emigrated to Canada in the 80s with the 2 youngest. Was Mary Ann there too? Strange that they were on different ships tho  :-\
That is definitely the correct Emma marrying Johnston :)
Thomas would have been 60 rather than 50 - mistranscribed or lying I wonder...............

Thank you Spendlove for finding Ellen in Blandford. That's 2 of the girls who went there - its always good to find family connections.
Off to bed now  :) Thanks again for your help.

I have a family who have all disappeared, I have looked for deaths, marriages and censuses, but have found very little. It occurred to me that maybe most of them emigrated. With most big families, at least some of them can be traced, but I have only 1 in 1891.

This family were all born in Hanging Langford Wiltshire, except the mother Mary Ann (nee Wickham). I have them all up to the dates listed, so do not need that info - I just would like to know where they went :) I have listed the census dates when I found them.

Thomas Fletcher b 1825 Hanging Langford ag lab and local Methodist Preacher, 1841,1851,1861, 1871, 1881
Mary Ann           b 1833 in Wylye (wilts)1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881
    Children
Fanny                b 1851   1861, 1871(servant in London)
Jane                  b 1855    1861, 1871 (working in Hampshire)
Charles              b 1857    1861, 1871
Ellen                  b 1860    1861, 1871
Thomas             b 1863             1871, 1871(working in Hampshire)
Kate                  b 1866              1871
Annie Florence   b 1869              1871, 1881, 1891 (working in Blandford)
Alice                 b 1872                        1881
Emma               b 1877                        1881

Thank you

Well eventually Freebmd started working, and no suitable children :(. I suspect this boy was not a Greenhill after all. I found miss Veasy (Veazy) pretty easily - helpful family giving their children 3 Christian names each. Any way thanks Liz, for sorting out Alec's wife for me :)

Happy Christmas!

Thank you Liz and Pinefamily for looking for me. Not quite sure why I could not find those 2 ::).
I think the Greenhill/Veasey one is right. I did not say anything before, but the Mrs GH I found with Alec on the electoral reg was Florence Mary Isabella :). Whether they are the parents of Keith I am off to find out! Thank you both !

Hi Liz
thanks for giving this some thought. Although referred to as cousins, they were quite distant. My Dad's maternal gm was a Greenhill. She had 2 brothers and I have discounted 2 out of the 3 of their male offspring. Alec Walter is a possibility.......

The photo is an informal garden scene containing the tea laid out on the grass, 2 older couples on chairs, one lady sitting on the grass with K, (age unclear, possibly mum with dad being the photographer) . Other children could be playing elsewhere in the garden.

I have most of the family well recorded pretty far back, and to some extent sideways, but the years after 1911 are proving tricky! ::)
