« on: Monday 20 November 17 00:51 GMT (UK)  »
May I ask for some assistance with the above named ancestor?  He was born in Dublin in 1870, I am having a job locating him where I expected to (several of his siblings settled in Garston, Lancs) but found a likely suspect and would be grateful for some info to positively I'd him from the military records. This is what I have..Felix Wall Lancashire Fusileers / 1917 /stated year of birth -1877 /service number? 26416 / 22nd reserve bn.   The second record has one Felix Wall / Labour Corps /1919 / stated year of birth-1871 /service number? 443580 /828th (as read ) area employment Labour Corps. An address, or n.o.k would be very helpful if that's possible. Thank you....

World War One / Thomas Campbell service records.

After several years of attempting to discover my grandfather's WW1 service history,I am no closer to a resolution, and seek some assistance to finally nail this if possible,as this is a somewhat tricky case.
I don't have access to the subscription sites, but have arrived at 8 possible service numbers, and hope somebody may be able to check a couple to enable me to sort/eliminate them.

World War Two / R.A.F Speke defences.
« on: Saturday 13 May 17 12:10 BST (UK)  »
I am attempting to unearth whatever info I can re the army units stationed in Speke,Liverpool (Lancs) during the war. One relative recalls locals having servicemen billeted in her family home,(and another formed a relationship with one soldier which led to an illegitimate child).Obviously, there must have been defences, but I can only find mention of R.A.F.units. Any hints as to where to begin would be gratefully accepted.

World War One / Joseph Wignall.
« on: Wednesday 21 December 16 14:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Folks,I wonder if I may seek some assistance? the ancestor I need info about was Joseph Wignall, born Garston,Lancs in 1885. I have his Militia history,(6599,pte,4bn Kings Liverpool reg) but could not find definite gen re WW1. At the baptism of one of his daughters in 1916,his occupation is shown as Labourer, his next child was born in 1918,I have today received her birth cert, and it shows him as corporal, 4bn, Kings Liverpool reg.I must assume he was called up at some point after July 1916. I have searched to the best of my ability and can only find one match-47439,cpl Joseph Wignall,4bn,Kings Liverpool.I don't have access to the subscription site, and illness prevents me from spending too much time at the library and wondered if anybody is able to search for the enlistment info if it exists,in fact, any thing at all to confirm this.Tom.

I recently asked for some help to combine/splice two photographs,I was overwhelmed by the response, and now, I hope that I can perhaps ask for the same again.

I wonder if it is possible for someone to help me with these pics, not the best quality I know. I have attempted to splice them using my less than modest abilities, with appalling results,it may well be that they are incompatible, but any result would be acceptable.

Lancashire / Salford marriage.
« on: Thursday 10 December 15 10:42 GMT (UK)  »
Good morning folks, is there any possibility that someone may be able to help me out with this.
I have a marriage in Salford in 1909,the groom James Murray, bride Sabina Loftus. I am seeking to find any info for the bride, in particular place of birth. If it is the woman I am researching, it should be Garston, Lancs. I have several (unverified) births for Murray m.m.n. Loftus in Salford which tie in datewise, the first being born in West Derby which I am hoping is a link.
Any assistance will be gratefully appreciated.
Tom.
