Warwickshire / Baptism 1800-1805?
« on: Sunday 12 February 17 02:43 GMT (UK)  »
Are there any resources for baptisms, that aren't online that can be checked for me please? Looking for a baptism of an Isaac Nichols or Smith or ? born 1800-1805, he was known as Isaac Nichols, but nothing has turned up. I recently found a DNA match to a NIchols family - William Nichols married Charlotte Smith 1807 - the marriage has no indication if they were bach and spinster or wids. Possibly Isaac was the son of Charlotte as she was older (born 1781ish), but was Isaac a Smith or ? There are another couple of DNA matches to Smith's in Birmingham, but with a name like that its impossible to track down families. With Isaac not being a particularly common name I was hoping to be able to find him! He says born Birmingham, but, obviously could be anywhere in the area, or even born in another county and grew up in Birmingham... thanks for any help :D This is one brickwall I would dearly love to break!

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Sheffield Archives - fiche lookup?
« on: Wednesday 16 November 16 21:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I have a long standing brick wall, and was hoping that if anyone visiting the Sheffield Archives has a spare 10 minutes they would be able to check the fiche for Bullhouse Chapel please?

NR170 - Bullhouse Protestant Dissenters Chapel, Penistone
RefNo   NR170
Title   Bullhouse Protestant Dissenters Chapel, Penistone
Description   Photocopy of register of baptisms with list of ministers.
Date   [1757 - 1921]

I am particularly interested in the period 1763-1793 and the family of an Abraham ADDY whose children settled in the Langsett area.
I am missing a baptism for a David ADDY circa 1783, also baptisms for Benjamin (buried 1767) and Robert (buried 1789), and likely other children?
I have tried everywhere else I can think of with no luck,
many thanks,
Sharon

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Worcester Record Office Lookup Request - Wills
« on: Monday 29 August 16 21:23 BST (UK)  »
If anyone is planning a trip to the Worcester Record Office, and have some spare time would there be any chance of helpig me with a Nicholls query please?

There is a will in the Court of the Bishop of Worcester 8 Mar 1660 for Edward NICHOLLS (I believe was Vicar of Snitterfield 1631), I would like to know people mentioned if possible.
Reason being is I have a marriage of a son John, but this John doesn't have any sons Edward, so I am not convinced that I have the right father  ???

There is a son Edward NICHOLLS died 1727, and "the" John NICHOLLS died 1737, would like to know if they are in the indexes for Wills please?

Thanks for any help,
Sharon

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Wills help 1660, 1727, 1737
« on: Saturday 27 August 16 11:03 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to nut out a Nicholls family in Warwickshire.
There is a will in the Court of the Bishop of Worcester 8 Mar 1660 for Edward NICHOLLS (I believe was Vicar of Snitterfield 1631), I would like to know people mentioned if possible.
Then I believe a son Edward NICHOLLS died 1727, and his son John died 1737, if anyone is able to check the indexes to see if wills exist?
I am not sure on any of the relationships so hoping that wills would help.
Thanks for any help,
Sharon
