Glamorganshire / Re: Martin family in Merthyr Tydfil
« on: Wednesday 30 March 05 16:54 BST (UK)  »
Hello Both
I haven't found a direct line to the Osmond family as yet but most of the names they are researching  are also in my family tree in the same areas.
My grt grt grt grandmother Margaret Martin was born in Vaynor in 1811, unfortunately the records were damaged for her birth year in a flood. She also married in vaynor church. I have looked into the family and her father seems to be Edward Martin. Her brother Thomas who was a witness in her wedding  , his family emigrated to Utah.
Margaret married William Watkins . I have quite a bit of information from the eighteen hundreds. I have found relatives in Utah and they have passed their family trees to me.
William and Margaret's daughter Elizabeth married Edwin Samuel also from a mormon family. On the mormon family search every name I typed in was being researched by Donny's parents.
Donny Osmonds ancestors are from the same areas as my family ie Loughor, Merthyr, Llanfallteg, etc.
Is there any connection to your martin's.

Hi Sue
The earliest I have John Hale and family is 1881.I don't have access to earlier census reports.
It would be lovely if you have found him in the 1851.
Thanks

Gloucestershire / Hale/Taylor families Westbury on Severn
« on: Tuesday 29 March 05 13:39 BST (UK)  »
My husband's family were from this area. John Hale b about 1849 East Dean married Emma Taylor also of East Dean.
In 1881 they are at Cinderford, Westbury on Severn East Dean Glos
Emma's family were involved in the Fair industry. She was connected to the Studd? FAMILY.
The earliest I have them is 1881.
John and Emma's ages are not the same in any census after 1881 so it is going to be hard to obtain a birth cert.
Is anyone else researching these families.?

Thanks for searching on my behalf. I will try the address given for the Swansea archives.
