Hi
I first put some information concerning Louis Wood on the board on the 24th March 2006, then I had him with a possible father who was either Chas Wood born Germany or Joseph Wood this one from his birth certificate, I now have his marriage certificate to Kate Rice in Sept 1882 and it states that his fathers name is Julius Wood a Tailor (this was also the occupation of Joseph) but it does not state that he was deceased at the time of the marriage. Now the strange thing that occurs to me was that on the birth cert Louis name was spelt Lewis and his mother was Elizabeth Wood (nee Proops) a marriage was also found for me by sks of an Elizabeth Proops to a Julius Holz in 1859 I did not take any notice of this but could it be that Holz became Wood if the gentleman was foreign and became nationalized.
I cannot find Julius in any census and cannot find the Holz couple either.
Any ideas on this would be gratefully received.
Regards Mimosa (now going grey with trying to work this out )
