Hi Shawn

We were in touch a few years back.  My Letitia McGuffin Born newry abt 1829 married James Smith in Glasgow in 1856.

Her parents were Thomas McGuffin and Jane Barr.

Her sister Susan married Peter MacDonald abt 1847, again in Glasgow.

In 1851 census Hudson McGiffin is staying with Susan and husband Peter in Glasgow.

That's as far as I've been able to confirm.  I have the details from gordon McGuffin about the earier family members.

I don't believe that the death of Thomas McGuffin, bootmaker shows his parents.

Any further details you might have.

Much obliged Rodeo.  Unfortunately my Julia Mcgrory McFadyen died 1862.

I 've been wondering if the Aikmans had anything to do with Cathcart castle, that might offer some explanation as to why she was there.

Thanks again, to everybody

Hi Gerry,

Can I ask if you have any Marrens Campbells or McFadyens among your photos.

I did the same as yourself recently, but there was not very many left standing.

Thanks

Hi

Does anyone know if there was a hospital or poor house on Muir Street, Hamilton.

I have an ancester, who died there 1862, though the usual address was Cathcart Castle in 1851 and 61 census and poor relief.  The lands were sold about that time I believe and her husband moved to Glasgow where he died 1865.

Thanks

Hi

I have an address of 610 Main Street, for John Coule, from his 1st WW attestation - wife Louisa, they married St John 1914.

A daughter Georgina marries a Henry Ewart in 1940. still in St. John.

Can't find a death for John after 1953.

Would you know the latest  death records available to the public.

Thanks

Janette
