For now, I suggest that you simply go to the Aust board and start a new topic there.

That is simply repeat your request in the right place. ;D

You can use the 'report to moderator' button (bottom right of your current post window) to request ..."please delete as have moved it to right board".

Janice. You need to move the new post which you have put in General Useful Links.

It will do better on the Australian Board.

Australia / Re: What became of Robert Leslie Scott & who were his parents?

Wow thankyou Sue much appreciated. The mystery of where he was for all those years (supposedly Perth) remains as I just learnt he did return and died in Melbourne.
His birth and family also remain a mystery .
Many thanks for your help

Well, a return to Melbourne would fit with the cremation I located, but there is no certainty that it is the right person. I cannot find a death notice. Nor one for Stella

Look again at the Electoral Roll  address in 1980 which I listed for a man of the name.

If you google it, you will see the house. A family home really.

I think one witness on the certificate, can be ruled out as being of any help to you in searching for the parents /family of Robert Leslie SCOTT.

Irene Maud ( nee HAWKE) was the mother of Yolanda Elizabeth Isabel , and she was married to Walter Wallace CROMER.
Irene Maud had a sister, Effie Elizabeth (nee HAWKE) who married Vincent Henry MILES, the witness on the marriage certificate.

So not connected to Robert's side of the union.

I wonder if the couple were living apart in their later years.

Stella Eileen SCOTT. 27 Mattingley Cres. Brunswick West. HD

She had been there since at least 1963 when she is seen with her husband Rbert Leslie who is a foreman.

There is one Robert Leslie SCOTT in 1980.
Address 84  Clarence Street  Brunswick East. No Occ.

I reccommend you study the will.

Particularly look at document
4/876 Richard Ruffin: Grant of probate.

Particularly look at page 3.

There seem to be some odd remarks within the document relating to the will and codicil saying the property does not belong to him and he only had 5 pounds.

Difficult for me to follow ???
You or someone else may have a clearer understanding.

Amelia Turner is 11 years old on the ship Stuart Wortley in 1857. Arrving into Geelong
On board also are Richard RUFFHEAD aged 57, Ann RUFFIN aged 31 and Elizabeth RUFFIN aged 11 years.
