thanks very much for this information,  if i hope it is denis callaghan/ there are so may places in cork. i have looked at the diffrent parishes, kilmurry, moviddy, kilbonane and cannavee, does that mean where denis and honarah acually lived isnt registered. anyway thanks alot for your help. :)

I'm not sure that London census fits after all...

based on the 1911 census details in reply 2 it looks like Thomas would have been born about 1861.

this is my g/grandfather.thomas callaghan,my grandfather edward who was born in 1893 is not on the irish census, he would have been eighteen, so. he might have been in london

i ould be  grateful for the link for denis and honarah marriage, also thomas callaghan on the cenusus fo r 1911 or 1901 when they moved back to  seaview avenue north dock, had other children, a my grandfather edward callaghan, was born 1893  but only some of the children are on the census, the other children must have stayed with relations in london, dont know? if this is my g/g/grandfather denis and honarah it will be marvalous, as i have been searching my roots since my father timothy callaghan died 4 years ago, .   thanks.. :)

sorry about spelling and mix up the date is 1824-1879. i have gotton in touch with saint patricks church, wapping to ask if there is any information on denis callaghan and his wife hanorah, but i havent had a reply. most of the callaghan family were lighterman and labourers, on the river thames, they were baptised and married at saint patricks church, since 1879 or before, but the  office staff at the church have not got the time to go through the archives. how do i go about looking through parish registers in ireland, if i am not sure whre my g/g/ grandfather was born? thankyou very much. :)

denis callaghan was born i think in dublin, he was married to honorah mahoney, but then i have been told callaghan is a cork surname, they were roman catholics, he was a coal tipper in the london docks, he had a son thomas callaghan, who moved to dublin north dock, lived at seaview avenue, i have seen the census 1911 of this family,.. thanks. th definate date of denis callaghan death was march 1879 as i have been in touch with tower hamlets b.m.d. website.

i am new to roots chat, i have tried to get a birth certificate for my g/g/ grandfather denis callaghan, w ho i think was born in ireland, he died in wapping london march 1979 st george in the east. age 55. so i think he was born 1824, as there is no information on the irish b.m.d i have come to a standstill. any information will be appreciated. thanks
