I rang GRO this morning for birth certificate for Johanna walker born 10th July 1888 they found it , fathers name was Richard walker , but they said that the mothers surname wasn't Megan or Reagan !they would tell me what the surname was until purchase , which I am doing as well as marriage details for Catherine and Richard walker. I don't know about this rc thing as my mother was baptised a catholic , so her mother Johanna walker or her husband Richard walker must have been Catholic.or if one of them was r/c that would be alright but I thought in those days you could marry Church of England and if so you couldn't have your child baptised r/c. If you know what I mean, the church was very strict.i know for a fact Johanna was Catholic as four of her children went to the Magdalene school for years due to John a Hurley s early death. Very strange.

Suzard.  What church did Catherine's parents get married in as I haven't read this. And would you have any idea who Catherine's parents were I mean her mother as I know her father was cornelius Megan. Thanks. Maybe the church didn't allow the marriage maybe one of my g/ rand parents were Church of England ? I know my grandmother Johanna  walker was Catholic, or maybe it was her husband John Alfred Hurley who was rc , he died in the docks age 36,

Thanks. Will do  so on the 1871 census Richard walker s.   Father was also Richard walker coachman  and was his mother Catherine Megan, or was that Catherine walker (richard walker ) wife's mother. Was 1871 30th July .  My g/grandfathers d.o.b.  If so , he would have been 17 years old when my grandmother johnaana. Walker was born as she was born 10th July 1888 thanks.
