Hi George

according to this though, Robert Lyell had 6 siblings, not 5

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/69451889?searchTerm=ronald vincent&searchLimits=l-textSearchScope=*ignore*%7C*ignore*|||l-word=*ignore*%7C*ignore*|||l-title=46

Looks like he had a sister called Doreen as well.

Sorry I can'thelp you with any specific info about Robert Lyell though.

Obtained the BC for Albert Edward Beesley, Sidney's 2nd child. Born 19 Oct 1892 at Norfolk House, Blenheim Rd, Wood Green.
Still gives Sidney Beesley as the Father, Occupation Domestic Butler.
Mother is Nellie Beesley nee Busby. So found the following early Census entries for Nell Busby.
Listed in 1871 Census at 6 Sanford Lane, Hackney, single, with her mother, Mary Ann, and sister , Jenny. Her father is not listed, perhaps dead.
Occupation listed as Domestic Servant-Unemployed.
Listed in 1881 Census at Westwood Farm, Ilkley in Yorkshire. Occupation as a Companion to the Farm Owner, Anne Lister.
No idea why she would have gone up to the wilds of Yorkshire from London, but going by the Birth Place in the Census, it is the same Nell Busby.
Wondering if she met the illusive Sidney Beesley in Yorkshire. Maybe Bradford, as it seems largest town close by.

Thanks to everyone for their Help.

As Valda says, I will have to write off and get some Certificates.

Will now list this as "Completed"

Tell a Lie... Just found her listed in Ancestry in the 1891 as Nellie Bearley, they had transcribed it wrong

Yes, thank you Valda.
Have looked in Ancestry for the 1891 Census Listing you have supplied, but they don't appear to have transcribed it yet.
Can't find anything else in Ancestry for "Nellie Beasley" either

Thanks Carol.

I knew his son Alfred married, but didn't know his son was a Policeman.

The Info about Sidney being a Gentleman's Servant is new to me. Thank you for that.

Have checked the 1891 Census but nothing in there I'm afraid

Does anyone have any info of a Sidney Alfred Beesley born about 1850

He was married to an Ellen Beesley b 1853 in Stoke Newington. Ellen and the 4 children show up in the 1901 Census in Essex, and she is listed as married, but Sidney not there.

Of his sons, Alfred Sidney, Albert Edward, Ernest Henry, and Thomas St Bernard, 3 of them were merchant seaman just prior to, and during WW 1.

I suspect Sidney Alfred, their father, was possibly a seaman. as well.

Can find no details of his marriage to Ellen, or him showing up in any previous Census.

If someone has any details on him, would be appreciated to push back the Beesley lineage a bit further.

Australia Lookups completed / Father of John SUMMERS B 1865 in Tasmania *COMPLETED*

Hi,
just worndering if anyone knew of connections between John SUMMERS b1865 ( probably in northern Tasmania, and married to Isobel POLSEN in 1886 at Emu Bay )  ) to other SUMMERS born in Tasmania earlier.
In particular Thomas SUMMERS born in Launcestion in 1811. Was wondering if any of Thomas's children ( and he had 15 of them, so lots of choice there ) had John ?
