Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: 1851 Census - Pendleton
« on: Thursday 31 March 05 15:19 BST (UK)  »
;D  Many thanks - I really appreciate that information!

No wonder I could not find any sign of Joseph in the marriage registers in Manchester - he was from Derbyshire all the time!!!

I don't suppose you have access to 1841 .....??? ;)

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1851 Census - Pendleton
« on: Thursday 31 March 05 12:27 BST (UK)  »
Trying to locate WILLIAM STAFFORD and HANNAH BRACEGIRDLE on the 1851 Salford Census.

They married at the Salem Chapel, Strangeways on 25 December 1852, and I am hoping that they were at the addresses on their marriage certificate in 1851 - together with their respective parents and siblings .....!!!

WILLIAM STAFFORD gave his address as Hills Court, Pendleton - his father's name on his marriage certificate is JOSEPH STAFFORD
HANNAH BRACEGIRDLE gave her address as Gould Street, Pendleton - her father's name on the marriage certificate is WILLIAM BRACEGIRDLE, and I suspect her mother was called JANE

Any help would be appreciated ...!

Many thanks

Devon / FOOT/DRAKE - Bere Ferrers
« on: Wednesday 30 March 05 22:01 BST (UK)  »
Looking for information about Christopher Foot, believed to have baptised 14 May 1743 in Bere Ferrers, who married Elizabeth Drake on 1 February 1773. They appear to have had at least 10 children.

If anyone has information about Christopher or Elizabeth, I would love to hear!

Cornwall / NANCARROW - St Agnes
« on: Wednesday 30 March 05 16:27 BST (UK)  »
Joice Nancarrow married Joseph Ninnis on 19 May 1804 at St Agnes. They had at least 8 children - among them, my 2xgreat grandmother Rhoda Ninnis. Despite much searching amongst seemingly hundreds of Nancarrows in St Agnes and surrounding parishes, I have never managed to find Joice's baptism. I suspect she may be the grandaugter of George and Joyce Nancarrow who appear to have had at least four sons, but have never been able to make the connection. If anyone has any information about this family, I would be glad to hear from them!

Channel Islands Lookup Requests / 1861 Census - Jersey BOWDEN
« on: Wednesday 30 March 05 14:37 BST (UK)  »
My great grandfather, Orlando John Bowden was born 1852 Little Peter Street, St Helier.  He appears to have been the third child of John and Edith Bowden. The 1851 census (checked some years ago) shows this couple with two other children Horatio aged 2 and Caroline aged 6 months. If it is possible to check the 1861 census to see if any of them are there, I would be grateful.  Father John seems to have been born in Jersey, but mother Edith was from Cornwall.

Many thanks
