Hi Trying to find death registration for my great Uncle Herbert Hardy . B 1880 D 1961. Thornton Dale NYorks. Should have been easy but nothing doing. Something wrong here but not sure what to do next . Any ideas welcome thanks/

I have been searching for my great Uncle Herbert Hardy on the 1911 Census but are unable to find him. He was born in 1880 died 1960,s at Thornton Dale N Yorks. In 1901 he was in service as a footman at Argos Hill Rotherfield Sussex to T B Eliot ,Memeber of the Company of Royal Archers Kings Body Guard Scotland. Family tradition has it that he later became Valet to Lord Derby but I assume this was much later. Bit stuck now . Can anybody suggest a way foreward ? Nick
