I can't thank you enough, Adam, this is wonderful. There are so many Anguses and it is difficult to sort them out without first--class information such as this.
                       Thanks very much once more
                                             Jane

Hello and thanks once again for this great service. May I have the Angus inscriptions, C of E and I think you mentioned Baptist too, if I may have both sets?
              Grateful thanks in advance
                                  Jane

Thank you so much for providing this service, I can see you have made so many people happy.
May I ask for the Angus inscriptions please, if it's not too much trouble?
                                   Regards
                                      Jane

PS I see that you have Anguses at Wolsingham too...

Manchester Archives and local Studies, Central Library, Manchester, has microfims for the St Peter's Bolton parish records, if that makes it easier for anybody

Oooh, thanks, I was looking for a Silvanus, 'sister' sounds a likely Ancestry version

Cheshire / Re: NIXON family origins

Thanks again, Celia.
The only John Nixon christening for the right time frame that I could find in Chester archives when I went last year in the season formerly known as summer was this one
 Chester St John
Baptisms 1811
John, son of John Nixon, weaver and Ann his wife
 born April 5th 1810, christened Feb 3rd 1811
I checked all the other churches I could find.
In view of the multiplicity of Nixons in the area, it seemed a little too good to be true.

My lot were primitive methodists, Celia. so I guess there was a split somewhere along the line

Great to have this topic stirred up again. Celia, I don't know a Darren but my great grandfather had a brother named Daniel. both born Middlewich...
I am still trying to find any ancestors or same generation relatives of  John Nixon or Nickson, born Chester circa 1811. I have the story forwards, but with so little information I have spotted nothing likely for John's origins --the naming pattern doesn't seem to help as the family were non-conformists and most had bibilical names...
The Frodsham family ... maybe they could be found in 1851 with more details, thanks grtz, will check them out
