Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / obit lookup 2017
« on: Saturday 07 November 20 18:05 GMT (UK)  »
I have a probate issued in Cardiff, Glamorganshire regarding the death of a Madeline Mary Anita ROBERTS who died, according to the probate, on 16 January 2017. I am trying to find an obituary for her in order to determine if she is the person I am looking for. "My" person of interest lived in Somerset up to around 2014, but she was born in Wales and did have a family member who lived in Cardiff; therefore it is possible she did not die in Wales (and it may not even be the right person). . I thought if I found the obit of this Madeline it would help me greatly.  Thank you, Nikkei

Canada Lookup Request / lookup in Leader-Post, Regina
« on: Saturday 31 October 20 19:54 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for someone who has access to the newspaper, The Leader-Post, in Regina. On 21 January 1933 an obit was published for Ida Maud GOULD, age 51, and then on 8 February 1933, her husband died. He was R. J. GOULD in the obit. I have only been able to see a small piece of the obits  as I do not have a subscription to see the whole thing. Any assistance most appreciated. Nikkei

Miriam, his wife, appears to have died between the 1881 and 1891 censuses. Any help most appreciated.

Cornwall / 1841 transcription
« on: Monday 27 January 20 20:59 GMT (UK)  »
I would be most grateful if someone would look up the 1841 census for Maker. I have seen two transcriptions for this couple and each one gives a differing surname. The original image is difficult to read and I would like an opinion as to which surname is the most likely correct one.

It is HO107/135; Book 9, Folio 33, ED 5-6; pg 22 and one of the transcriptions is as a Charles CUNDY, age 75 and Susannah, (age 70) and the other as Charles LAWRY and Susanna. (same ages) This latter one is found on FreeCEN. Clearly one is incorrect.

Many thanks.
