Cardiganshire / James WILLIAMS of Llandewi 1840

I'm looking for the birth of JAMES WILLIAMS who gives his place of birth as Cardiganshire. In 1911 he says he was born in LLandewi.
Can anyone help me sort one WILLIAMS from another? There are a few on freebmd registered in Cardiganshire c 1840. How can I pick the right one?
Does anyone have Williams from Llandewi in their tree?

Kent / PEAD & HILBURNE marriage 1788

I have the marriage of John Pead & Elizabeth Hilburne at St Paul's, Deptford 28 Sept 1788.

I am now looking for the parents of Elizabeth.

One of the witnesses to the marriage was a George Hilburne.

On family search I have found Eliz Hilburne dau of Thomas & Mary Holbourn of Herne, Kent.
They also have a son George-the [possible witness]-but he was bapt 13 May 1777 making him only 12 or so at the date of his sister's marriage.
Would it be possible for such a young person to be a witness at a wedding?

I'm chasing JOHN PEAD bapt in DEPTFORD in 1801. On 1871 census he says he is a Pensioner (Greenwich Hospital).
Does anyone know of any records I can find please?
Or does anyone have any connections?

Shropshire / Elizabeth CARTWRIGHT, bapt MORE 1804

Hi

I'm looking for info on Elizabeth CARTWRIGHT. In 1861 census she is living in BISHOPS CASTLE with her husband WILLIAM WATKIN and says she is 58 years old and was born in MORE, Shrops.
Also living with them is MARY 'mother in law' to William as head of household and therefore mother to Elizabeth?
The only bapt I can find for Elizabeth Cartwright in More is 16 Nov 1804 but her parents are WILLIAM & SARAH Cartwright. SO Is Elizabeth's mother MARY or SARAH?

Can anyone shed light on this or have a connection please?

Glamorganshire / JONES & WILLIAMS brickwalls

I have several JONES & WILLIAMS families I need to sort out. One concerns Sarah Williams born in various years depending on which census or marriage cert you believe. As there were around 4 Sarah Williams registered each quarter not to mention the Sarah Annes and the Sarah Janes, I am stumped. From the marriage cert I know is Sarah's father was James.
I am going to the National Archives in a few weeks. Does anyone know if they have parish records? Obviously I do not want to buy what could amount to 20 or so certificates, but I can't think of another way to sort them out beside trawling through reels of microfilm. Can anyone help or suggest anything please?

Travelling People / GEORGE BRADLEY mr'd SARAH LEAL 1818

I'm looking for the family of George Bradley who married Sarah Leal in Herefordshire 1818.

Their son William was a hawker/tinker/pedlar around Herefordshire & Shropshire until his death in 1903.
When I googled the name LEAL it said it was a spanish gypsy name.

I'm looking for the bapt of Sarah Leal but the IGI does not have any anywhere near Herefordshire in 1818.

Can anyone help please? Any Bradleys or Leals out there searching?

Monmouthshire / CHARLES CURTIS bapt 1826 Somerset

I'm looking for the family of CHARLES CURTIS who was born in Stone Easton in Somerset around 1826.
He apparently fathered an illegitimate child in Somerset in 1846.
He is next seen in 1851 census in Bedwelty as a miner and a lodger. Census ref HO107.2418
I have his marriage to Matilda Purnell in 1860 at St Siloh Chapel, Abergavenny when he is shown as a widower aged 32.
I have looked for his first marriage and any children who may have been born (possibly she died in childbirth?) but have been unsuccessful.
Can anybody help please?
