Hi BumbleB now you can see my problem it is very confusing i do have the marriage certificate for Joseph Fletcher to Mary Jane Ogley they were married in sheffield in 1860 the witness for Joseph Fletcher was his father Tobias Fletcher there were 2 more witness signatures one was William Ogley the other was Eliza or Elizabeth Ogley hard to make out i can only assume they were siblings, As for Mary Janes birth i have 1843 retford but because im so unsure i still have not sent for it on the marriage certificate it says she is 18 which would be 1842 i have also searched in vain on the 1851 and 1861 cencus and come up with nothing Mary comes up with her husband and daughter Frances in 1871 and then in 1881 she is living with her mother Jane Grey and husband Joseph Fletcher but it says her name is Mary Slater which is infact Josephs Trade so as you can see it is very complicated, Hope this makes sence Richard

Hoping this is in the right area if not my apologies still feeling my way round.
I am trying to find a death record or any information for Jane Grey born either 1818 or 1822 in everton drakeholes my apologies for not being specific but it changes depending which yearly cencus you read
I loose her aged 79 living with my 2nd Grandmother Frances Ellen Dixon / nee Fletcher in gainsborough Lincoln in Jerrems Yard 1901 cencus she is down as grandmother to Frances she has been a thorn in my side for the last seven months and is driving me crazy as her daughters name was Mary Jane Ogley born 1843 i have confirmation through Mary Jane Ogley,s marriage to my 3rd Grandfather Joseph Fletcher in 1860 she is down living with Frances Ellen Dixon in 1901 aged 79 again with Frances in 1891 aged 69 and then with her daughter Mary Jane and son in law Joseph Fletcher in 1881 cencus aged 63 this is where it gets confusing as she should be 59, if she was 79 in 1901 i would have thought it would be easy to find her death seeing as her grandaughter Frances stayed in the lincoln area but i cannot find it any help please

Hi Trevor
Unfortunately its not mine the picture was sent by a friend who has been helping in my search, i had traced back to my 4th great grandfather Tobias Fletcher 25th nov 1814 to 1877 and through his marriage certificate to Catherine Shaw it listed his father also Tobias born around 1784 barnsley occupation Watchmaker, then someone sent me the picture and said did i realize tobias fletcher was a famous watchmaker so i kept digging and found his marriage in silkstone 1803 to elizabeth fletcher same surname again father of tobias another tobias fletcher and father of elizabeth was william fletcher,as you must know once you start its hard to stop but after 1840 it gets really hard to find information so im a little unsure where to turn next would the info im looking for be held in the central libary or do i need to go to the church they were married in, there is also John Fletcher listed as a watch and Clockmaker brother of Tobias 1814 born around 1816 so it could well be a family trade passed down the search goes on.
Ps Many thanks to anyone who has already made suggestions to help in my search. Richard Fletcher
