On  obtit for a ancestor  I found out that she had a brother I was unaware of it  he is listed as Rev J T  Hall OBE   I cannot  find out why he recieved the OBE    I searched  through some of the London Gazette   I did see there a  J T Hall  OBE   listed in the  Army pages  as the diffrent ranks he had obtianed  .  I also had a possible link in the  Clerical directory for a James Thompson Hall    but I cannot make the connection   ... His sister was born in Ireland   went to China as a missionary I belive and married there came back to England  with  her family just as WW II  broke out   where she died in 1945 ...... Her name was Jane( Jeanie Hall)   Married  George Sydney Burton Sayer Any help appreciated

I have been searching on and off  for my great uncle  I have posted several messages over the years  to  in hope  someone might  be able to help  each time I post I have a little more information than before
Lionel Percy Sayer was born  in Wales in 1893  ....... in 1900 he is living  in  Yorkshire    with his siblings and parents    I just recently found out  that  he was in the Navy  per the 1911 census on  the HMS  Venerable    as a seaman ........ then about 1914  per a photo  Lionel    was in the Army  East  Surrey regiment   ............ 1918  he  is stationed in Ireland  and marries  a  Margaret  Christie    ........ move to Scotland and have two children    then some time after 1922  he  deserts the  family and  the army
I located   him on a ship as a seaman   1930 on a boat to  NYC   names Leonard   P Sayers    ....... 1931 he is back on Scotland and marries a Nancy Gibb ( no divorce from his  first wife   till the 1950's )
On his marriage certificate he lies  about his parentage   using his uncles name as his  fathers and  Lionel uses the name  Lionel Percy Robson Sayers ...... some time  time frame unknown the marriage  between Lionel and Nancy ends     no t sure why   but in 1945  Nancy dies and she is married to someone else at the time of her death .
My mother remembers Lionel coming to visit her brother  around 1936 in the Lincolnshire  area   then he is never heard of again
 I did find  in the  1930 census of US records a  Leonard Sawyer  born wales  and he is listed    as  born wales and  married to a Russian lady  no confirmation this is my Lionel/Leonard   
I would love to know where he went  and   what happened to him    He is a mystery   

I have made contact  with  his   grandchildren    and  they are   no more  the wiser than I am between the three of us this is what we have managed to put together    If any one can help  would be greatly appreciated

Looking for a Lionel P Sayers  seaman  Believe he might be in the USA  around 1930 He was born 1893 In wales but lived his childhood in  England 
Wonder if   some one would be able  look up on the census  for Lionel   I believe he might be in hiding as he deserted the Army in the 1920's   from the Suffolk  Reg

I have been given the following information  Lionel Percy Robson Sayer married Nancy Gibb   in Kirkmichael    1931   Lionel I believe is my Grandfathers brother     his name  is correct  ( he added the Robson  and that was his mothers maiden name)  he lied about his parents  Stated that George Burton Sayers was his father  this actually was is uncle   the mother stated was  the  first names of his cousin )  Was not from Australia Only truth he gave was his name age and his parent were deceased

UPDATE August 1 2008   I have found out that  he was married before in 1918 In Cork Ireland   Went to Scotland  first son born 1919  and a daughter in 1920    Edinburgh   Deserted the army and his family  mid 1920's   There is a possibily he was a seaman for awhile
 Know that he must have left or divorced his second wife as she died in 1945 under the name Jenning   in  Glasgow   

What happened to Lionel later in life    any assitance would be appreciated
