Samuel was born 1863 .Died 1872.Sorry my mistake.

Samuel Gormans wife Susan procter died 1870.And Samuel married a Mary Obrian 1870 or 1871.

Samuel Gorman died 1899.That was the year my grandfather married and my mums oldest sister was born.

Yes Carol

Forgot that James was born Ireland.

Always wondered if they went over to visit family and Susan gave birth in Ireland.

James died age 17 after mining accident. They also had Samuel who died age 10 1870 ,after accident at iron pit where a waggon killed him

.Also Ellen and patrick gorman died in Dalry when they were months old.Only one that survived in to adulthood was my Great gran Lizzie Gorman Mclaren.

Thinking if i  could find her in the cencus, maybe find more relatives of Samuel Gorman.Maybe a brother or sister or parents.Or maybe she was at a friends house.

Ayrshire / Gorman family in Dalry 1861 cencus

Hi

Ive been researching my family tree for a good number of years and have decided to go back over my Gorman side.

Wondering if anyone can help.My mums gran was Elizabeth Gorman born 1857 in Cadder Lanarkshire. Her father was Samuel Gorman ,mother Susan Proter.both from Ireland.

My problem is that on the 1861 cencus for Dalry  in Ayrshire Elizabeth isn't on it.Her mum susan  father Samuel and brother James Gorman age 2 are on it but she is missing.

She was born 9th January 1857, so she would have been 3 nearly four when the cencus was taken.

Wasted loads on Scotlands people .

The only Elizabeth Gorman I can get is one in Edinburgh age 3 but its not her.

Hi John

My sister was at marys house last night and was telling mary that you had contacted me.Mary would love to hear from you.If you put 3 posts on here you can private mail me .My 19 year old son has just went through a huge Scoliosis spinal opp in Edinburgh Royal 3 days ago so i have not had much time to contact you.Marys dad was James Kerr so im guessing your on the right track.Mary was also finding it hard in tracking Jackson. Will tx her and let her know what you told me.Dont know Julie that you are talking about but would probably know her father if he is a Croy Currie. What was Julies dads first name.

If you post another post you can send me your email private and i will pass it on to mary for you .
