US Lookup Requests / Re: 1920 census (new jersey)

Hello Shelleyesq,

Thank you for your kind interest.  I'd love to see the pictures, I only know Rose as an 'old woman' in the 1960's.   Can you point me in the right direction to find the pics??

 Best wishes to you,

         Gordon.

Hi Tony,

No thanks - I have a feeling he was a seaman (steward on transatlantic liners), so he was probably at sea then.

But if it's not too much trouble, could you have a quick look for Rose in the 1930 if you have it??    I should have done all this before I let Ancestry lapse - darn it !!    ;D

                Gordon.

Thank you again,

Gosh Tony that was quick !!

Yes it certainly does help a great deal, but one other question if you would be so kind;   does it say if she is married or a widow??  Husband was called Emil.

Thanks once again,

        Gordon.

US Lookup Requests / 1920 census (new jersey)

I wonder if someone might have access to the 1920 US census and could give me some information on the following lady and her household.

ROSE CARSTENS   believe in the Hudson area of NJ in 1920.  Born 1890/91 in London - arrived in US from Bremen in Germany in 1912.   That's about as much as I have.

Thanks in advance to any kind person who replies.

Hello Jo,

Not sure whether you're still monitoring this thread or not.

If you are, I wonder if you might have a peek to see if you can find any Frater (or Fratter) family members who lived in Meadowmill, Tranent.  I know at least 2 of the kids died in tragic circumstances in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but they may have been buried back in Tranent.

Thank you,

Gordon.

Hello Paw,

My only connection with Polwarth is the Aitchison (or Atchison) family - can I ask you if there is an Alexander or his wife Catherine listed??

Many thanks,

Gordon.

Angela - wowwww!

Thank you so much for those - it fills a couple of important gaps in the Irish family tree.

Kindest regards,

Gordon.

Hello Angela,

Thanks for taking time to reply:    believe oldest is Martha Jane b 29/9/1866 Ballygelly;  youngest is my grandfather Andrew b 12/7/1881 Ballygelly.

Think there were at least three 'in-betweenies' - Rachel, Agnes and James, though there may be more, and I have no idea of their birthdates.

Kind regards,

Gordon.
