United States of America / Re: Peleg Carr, Rhode Island
« on: Monday 07 March 22 14:20 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks again for the illuminating information.   It seems pretty certain that Elizabeth Aylesworth was unlikely to have married Peleg Carr but rather Peleg Card.   Unfortunately I no longer have an Ancestry subscription but will follow your suggestions regarding US Sons of the American Revolution and DAR sites.   Back to the drawing board.
Regards Dave

Thank you for taking the time to post such a comprehensive reply.   As you suggest, I'll look in Arnold's in the hope of finding some positive evidence.   It seems that there was some confusion over this family's records in mid 18th century Rhode Island, not helped by the possibility that parts of Tiverton were in Massachusetts.
The name Elizabeth Aylesworth appears in some records that I have seen, but nothing conclusive.  However, I am confident that Peleg Carr was a direct descendant of Caleb Carr, born 1616 London, and his son Governor Caleb Carr.   Prior to 1616 the timeline becomes fanciful, directly linking the family to among others, King Edward I, King Alfred and even back to pre-Roman times in Britain.

United States of America / Peleg Carr, Rhode Island

There appears to be some discrepancies about the marriages and family of Peleg Carr, born 1689, or 1690, and died 1736 in Newport, Rhode Island.   As far as I can make out he married Anne Crawford in 1711 and they had at least 8 children.   Anne died in 1729 and Peleg then married Elizabeth Aylesworth, their first child, Robert, was born in 1731.   There appear to be no records of either Elizabeth's birth, death or marriage.
I am currently trying to trace the descendants of Deborah Carr (1737 to 1819) the daughter of Peleg and Elizabeth.   Any help confirming dates etc greatly appreciated.

World War One / Francis Woods - Medal Card

I would be grateful if some kind person with access to Medal Card information could look up any record for Francis Henry Ireson Woods, born 1892 in Hammersmith.   His parents were Francis Henry Ireson Woods and Alice Louisa Woods (née Wimpey).   I believe he served in the British Army in WW1.

Thank you.   Anabaptists believe that those to be baptised must willingly confess their faith, unlike child baptism where there is no decision made by the child.

Kent Lookup Requests / Elizabeth Beach - Wittersham LOOKUP COMPLETE

Request lookup of birth/baptism of Elizabeth Beach, born about 1794 in Wittersham or Ashford.   She later married Thomas Pollett in Ashford in 1813.   I am particularly keen to discover her parents and any siblings.
Many thanks, Dave

Thank you Sandra, I have seen the trees on the LDS site and I am working to confirm their validity and explore the ancestry of John Eborall together with descendants remaining in England.   Of course any information from USA of great value.
