Christophers fathers name was Christmas (yes Xmas) Dack and mother Alice Jones
Christmas father was James Dack - Mother Elizabeth Rice
The Dacks originated from Norfolk.

I do not think there was family in Australia.
I remember mom saying he would come home on leave but never be home long before he was off again.

Thank you for your reply, the form does ask for the NI No, but I guess the Service No has got to help them.
They also ask for service career, dates of joining and leaving which I do not have.
I do not have much to go on but would like to put his photo and medals in a display frame with any info I can add so he will not be forgotten.
I will send it off and hope to get something back.
Thank you again for your reply.

How do I find the NI number of someone who died in 1960 - there is no other living relatives
I need it to obtain Service records from RN as well as Service No.

I have a small box containing medals sent from Director of Navy Accounts - it has a number on the side of the box, hand written, KX150436 - could this be the service No

yes that would be a possibility, coming from North Shields they lived close to the docks and had brothers in Merchant Navy.    Is there anyway of finding this out?

No relatives living apart from myself and my sister and brothers. His borthers and sisters all passed away now (which includes my mom) and mom was the only to have children, hense my struggle ....
He was listed as a Labourer when he went out in 1952
He did spend many years in the Royal Navy, possibly on submarines. I have 4 medals with ribbons belonging to him.
His death certificate states he was a motor mechanic.

Christopher Dack ( 1920-1960 ) went to Melbourne in 1952 came home in 1960 but died in lodgings in Manchester before making it back to Northumberland.

Is there anyway of finding out anything about his time im Australia or even if he stayed there.

Any help greatfully received.
