Lauras mum Sarah had lived Warandyte rd research

I must say that  I'm a bit disappointed that we weren't able to establish a relationship between Laura
And  a Allan and the story amongst family was that she was with this R A Allan and that she had left Dunn for him.   So I'm a bit disappointed not having documents or something to support what Dunn had said and the family has believed  I had even got help in the past from those on another genealogy help site that had said that too. And if she had of been in a relationship with this Allan she couldn't of got married and looking at electorol rolls I didn't see her listed at her last known address...maybe that was another Laura Mavis Allan at Essendon Mmm weird..I definately don't know what to make of it all.

Just to note-Lauras dad was born Frederick Charles but he went by and died under Charles.And her mum Sarah Ellen Patterson nee Aitkin died under the Riseley name ( re 2nd marriage) as Ellen Riseley.

I'm also surprised that Laura chose to abandon all her kids and leave them with Dunn who was supposed to be an alcoholic and abusive when it would've made more sense to of given them to her mother who was still alive and who'd raised Lauras neice (my hubbys mum) or put them into care?  Or the fact that family said she had a lot to do with the Salvation Army,as did too,her mother.

Which brings me to add that their was always a strong Salvo connection.

I do have a few other family mysteries by they don't relate to Laura herself though.

Well it appears she DIDNT marry R A ALLAN then but she took the Allan name!.

She died under Allan and her Plaque you can see on line at the Altona Cemetary.

MORE INTERESTINGLY...

Whilst Charles James Raymond Dunn is deceased died 1961/inquest-1962 Jeep Accident.

The last person listed is not Dead and is very much alive this I find very interesting as im sure dear cousin will indeed herself be shocked.

Ps- Feel free to edit the last name mentioned as even though the image/cert states she is deceased,she is very much alive.

I write what I get told or know.

Keep in mind that I'm trying to research a family that no one knows much about because nothing has been past down nor did all family grow up knowing each and other either my husband or his mum didn't grow up being told much and my mum in law didn't grow up knowing all her (this family) either the family is and had been scattered all over the place.

So unless I can prove something by documents etc then  it may very well seem like speculation. I have only been doing this a couple of years so still pretty much a novice and I'm the most researched person on this family in the family and I've done a lot with only a little help here and there this hasn't been s easy family to research to say the least so therefore if it appears I'm speculating then so be it.

In regards to the death certificates also keep in mind that I'm now in my forties only ever sighted a nsw death cert as I lost my 2 dads young and didn't/don't hold the certificates so I'm going /trying to Anway remember from being a  young kid.

When I receive the death certificate. Don't know when , I'll post it.
