Thank you all again.

I believe that the death in 1993 is the Mary I am looking for. I have emailed Fingal.ie to find out if I can verify her parents' names through them. I believe that baby Keane is Alice. So tragic to lose two such young lives.

I'm not sure of other methods to confirm Mary's parents, so I hope that Fingal will assist me.

I will keep you posted.

Many, many thanks,
M.

Dublin / KEANE, Mary ... a different one. Marriage, children and death date please.

Hello, all.

Thanks to the people here, I was able to provide my sister-in-law with information on Mary Anne KEANE. My sister-in-law has now found that she has another Mary KEANE to research.

The Mary KEANE that I am now searching for is tricky as I don't have dates or her mother's maiden name.

Mary KEANE (possible middle initial B) was born to Dr John and Mrs Bernadette KEANE, most likely in Dublin. John died 9 Feb 2016 and his notice in the Irish Times shows that he was pre-deceased by his daughter, Mary. Estimating from the age of cousins, I'm thinking that Mary is likely to have been born in the 1960s. A note from a relative's address book here in Australia, and a sparsely detailed family tree (no dates) seem to imply that Mary 'died young'.

I have attempted to find her, with no luck, but I am unsure of whether access in Ireland is provided for events that may be relatively recent.

Again, if anyone is able to help I would be very grateful, as I would be for pointers on how to find the information myself.

Thanks in advance.

M.

Thank you dathai, Sinaan, Heywood and LH (private message) for all of your help.

Because of you, I have pretty much confirmed my details, and have a lead on possible children of Mary and Donal (living).

I am researching for my partner's family and might be able to put my sister-in-law in touch with the Keanes that she is looking for. I think that I have found one of them on Facebook!

Thanks especially for responding so quickly. I am struggling to organise myself at the moment and was flailing around Ancestry with thousands of results even after I set most of my fields as exact matches. Thanks to you, my sister-in-law doesn't have to wait for me to get my head in order.

Very kind of you all. Many thanks.

Dublin / KEANE, Mary Anne b. 1932 Skerries. Marriage, children and death info.

Hello everyone.

I am trying to find out if Mary Anne KEANE, b. 1932 (in Skerries to John KEANE and Alice SEAVER) was married, if she had children, and her death details please. I have been advised that she is deceased.

I'm in South Australia, and have access to the big A******y database, but I can't seem to make head or tail of things at the moment, so I'm happy for someone to direct me to help me find the information myself, too.

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you all so very much. I'm sorry for the delayed response; I'm trying to take it all in and put all the right bits in the Ancestry tree. I'm doing this for my sister-in-law and I'm very rusty!

I will respond properly when I get it together, but I didn't want to you all to think that I was ungrateful.

One quick question, however, if I may ... are John and Sean commonly interchangeable, or were they in the past? The Sean Keane buried in the same area as Peter is Peter's father, who to my knowledge was known as John? Thank you.

Sinann,

Thank you so much. I believe that is the Peter Keane I am looking for; I believe he died in 1966.  I have located several of his family at Holmpatrick Cemetery, but a search of Internment.net did not bring up Peter, and I did not realise that he had been buried there. Perhaps his grave has not been transcribed as yet.

Your information looks like it confirms my understanding that he did not marry or have children. I am just beginning Irish research so I am very much feeling my way.

May I please ask where you found the death notice and article about the uprising?

Many, many thanks again.

M.
