Australia / look up maybe in Victoria for William James Blackwell
« on: Saturday 27 October 12 06:53 BST (UK)  »
Wondering if anyone is able to do a lookup in Victoria for William James Blackwell.  Possibly death or burial or something!!  I have searched Queensland and New South Wales and can't find what happened to him.  His parents are George and Harriet Blackwell (who resided in Canada).  I have the marriage certificate for William James Blackwell married to Ida Lavinia Warren.  There could be a second marriage to Edith Alice Warren (Ida's sister).  I haven't purchased this certificate as yet as I have only just received the marriage certificate to Ida yesterday.  On the marriage certificate the birthplace and parents sections are blank.  Wondering what happened to William.  Maybe I have missed something in the Queensland and New South Wales records.  I have also searched the trove website as well for a death notice.  But haven't found anything.  At this point in time I can only speculate that he was born in England.  His father, mother and siblings moved to Canada at some point in time.  In regards to a birthdate for William, from a Canada Census he must of been born around 1864.

Thanks
Ness

I only checked to see if a record existed.  Don't have to pay for that.  Only have to pay to view the results

yep I agree with JM and CandO, would be good if I could their death certs, even getting Dorothy's death cert to clarify marriage info and then going down that track to find out Henry's birth info.  Also the additional information in regards to their work as borers gives my partner additonal information in regards to his heritage and family.  Thanks everyone for your assistance, you've helped me get the ball rolling!

Can't seem to get any results from birth, death and marriages in Victoria for their marriage.  They would of been married late 1930s or in the 1940s going by the birth of my partner's father.  On his service record Henry's next of kin is Dorothy.

CandO would they have more information on his service records than the service records I found?

thanks again for the info.  Yes if I get Dorothy's death cert if should have the marriage info.  I am suspecting they may have married in Queensland and probably not within the date range of information they have realised publicly.  I am also relying on my partner's memory, I think I typed Kelly as her surname, we got a bit mixed up with Grandparent info.  My partner does not know much about this side of the family, as you can probably guess from the info I have relayed to you.
