Hi everyone, this is a photo of the hospital bed which my grandfather was in after being injured in WW1.
His name was William King born 26th October 1896 in Manchester, England. Reg No 2147.
He was part of 127th Brigade, 42nd (East Lancs) Division which landed on Helles, Gallipoli on 6th May 1915.
Grandfather was discharged, wounded, on 30th May 1916, well after the Gallipoli campaign ended. His Brigade went on to serve in Egypt, Suez Canal defence I think.

Can anyone identify this hospital ward? Which country it was in, and perhaps also the nationality of the nurses.
It's a long-shot, I know.  No harm in trying.

Hi. I'm very much hoping someone can help me to locate the background history of EMMA SILLS, born on the South Island of New Zealand 13/7/1869.
She married a GEORGE BEVINGTON ROWE 1896 (although I've also heard 1899) in Rangiora, Canterbury, NZ.

Emma's father's name was ROBERT.

Word coming down through history is that Emma Sills was of Mexican/Spanish decent ( but there has also been a rumour of Greece).

It would be SO good if we could find out one way or another. Please help if you can. THANK YOU!!! A BIG ask, I know...gulp!

I've now managed to form a good idea of how my ancestors lived, and where they lived, at the end of the 19th Century. I have loads of addresses which beckon to me to do a bit of a "nostalgia walk" around the streets of Beswick/Ancoats M/c

It's a very long way to come. Which begs the question " is there much of the original vista to see"? Or has the area been altered drastically with modern housing developments. I'm assuming the latter is more likely?
Is there anyone local who can tell me. Thanks.

Does anyone out there have photos of Emma Jane King (nee Madeley) born 4 July 1873 in M/c England, and her 1st husband, William King and sons William, Samuel, Albert and Richard

and/or her 2nd family with John George Bibby with his son Albert Bibby, and their children together, Ada Bibby (born1910 in Ardwick) and Alice Bibby (born 1911 in Ardwick).

Hi everybody
It's been a while since I posted anything but I'm having such trouble finding the final resting place of Agnes King who died at Withington Hospital, Manchester, in 1959 (April I think) that I wondered if anyone can help me? I've checked Manchester City Council's burial lists with no joy so far, but I'm sure she must be there somewhere. Agnes was the wife of William King of Wythenshawe/Northenden. Agnes was 60 when she died I think. Here's hoping that someone out there can give me a clue. Very many thanks in advance.
