Australia / Re: Assisted Passage on Largo Bay 1878 (FLEMING)

I am still having problems getting to the passenger list. I have searched John AND Fleming, Letitia AND Fleming, Largo Bay, and every other way I can think of but it always says No records found. What am I doing wrong? I am logged in as Guest so does that make a difference? I know I found the names in the list before and obviously you found them too.

Australia / Assisted Passage on Largo Bay 1878 (FLEMING)

My John and Letitia FLEMING (FERGUSON) with their grown children arrived in South Australia on the Largo Bay September, 1878. Recently I found them on a government site in an official list of passengers. When I went back to the URL the passenger list was no longer there. Does anyone have a link that could get to the information?

Wigtownshire / Re: Marriage in Inch, Wigtownshire FERGUSON/MILLAR

Well that was certainly worth the $10 investment (or whaterve 7 Pounds equals) Thanks for suggesting that I look at it on SP because not only did it have his father's name and occupation but his mother's name and her father's name too if I am interpreting it correctly. (It was a little more difficult because it looks like his mother's married name and maiden name are both Ferguson. )

I had all the family's death dates from a MI in Penninghame but this moves me up the ladder one more step. Thanks again. cm

I have his death date from an inscription on a memorial stone. It says he died Feb. 20 1879 in Penninghame, Wigtownshire (probably Newton Stewart). Are those death certificates also on Scotlands People?

Wigtownshire / Marriage in Inch, Wigtownshire FERGUSON/MILLAR

I have a 1821 marriage in Inch, Wigton between John Ferguson b. Ireland and Shusannah Millar. I have found her birth with parents names but can't find John's parents. Would a fuller account of the marriage in Inch be accessible anywhere? Hoping to see names of his parents.
Any suggestions?

I just discovered an exciting answer to the above questions. A memorial inscription in Penninghame Parish has a stone with this inscribed:

Erected by John Ferguson late crofter in *Baltersan* in memory of Susan Millar his wife who died on the 1st March 1873 aged 76 years

Also his son Joseph who died on the 13th Sept 1861 aged 26 years

Also his son William who died in Illinois, North America on the 26th Oct 1862 aged 36 years

Also the above John Ferguson who died 20th February 1879 aged 83 years

Also of his son Andrew Ferguson who died at #Newton Stewart# the 19th June 1887 aged 53 years

Also of Helen Gordon wife of the above Andrew Ferguson who died at #Newton Stewart# 3rd Decr 1893 aged 60 years
