I have a book titled DAY BY DAY events in the History of the Parishes of Pinxton & South Normanton. It details events and snippets of information about the people of the villages. It details various events including property sales, some eventful deaths, interesting events surrounding the people such as court cases, holiday trips, cricket matches, eventful weather etc. It covers diverse dates from the last 5 centuries. If anyone had any ancestors in these 2 villages it might be worth seeing if they are mentioned.  Provide some details and dates and I will see if they are mentioned.  Regards Trevor

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Photo colourisation
« on: Tuesday 09 March 10 15:18 GMT (UK)  »
I was wondering if some kind person could colour this photo for me. It is a surprise for a lady who looks after my dad who suffered a stroke and relies on her to help. This photo is of the marriage of her parents in April 1960.  Her mum is wearing a cream and yellow dress: the lace overcoat of the dress has yellow flowers on and the rest of the dress is cream.  The flowers are cream and yellow. Her hair is a nice brown but not too dark and blue eyes, Her dad is wearing black suit with thin pin stripe but that isn't visible. He has blue/green eyes and dark to black hair-- tie colour unknown. I would think the door at the back is brown! The horseshoe is probably silver. and the vicar is in standard colours. Hope someone can help.  Regards Trevor

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / COLOURISING WEDDING PHOTO
« on: Thursday 03 September 09 11:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi , I have attached a photo of my mum and Dad on their wedding day in 1948.  Last year was their Diamond wedding and I arranged for them to receive a letter from the Queen. This year I would like to give them a colour photo of their wedding day. As you can see my Dad was in the Army(RAMC) so he is in standard Army colours. My mothers dress is white but it has a pattern on it which was light pink. Her flowers were tulips; red and yellows.  Can any kind experienced photo restorer please help.  THANKS Trevor

My grandfather was in the Boer war and then in the first war. I have his pension record which shows he was in the KOYLI. He was recruited at Knarsborough and I have him getting married at Ripon cathedral in 1918. He was based at North Camp, Ripon. My question is does anyone know if service men were photographed at this time and if so where would I be able to research one.  Trevor

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Skipton Parish records
« on: Monday 08 December 08 19:30 GMT (UK)  »
I notice that Rootschatter Little Meg has the Parish records for Skipton. I was wondering if she would confirm some info for me.  My 3 times Great grandfather was William INMAN and I have received info that he was christened on Sunday 21 July, 1799. Could you confirm this and give me details of his parents. Is there any trace of a marriage of Williams parents. Thanks in anticipation.  TrevorPaul.

Somerset Lookup Requests / Exford Church Burial - Sarah POPE
« on: Saturday 12 April 08 13:21 BST (UK)  »
My G. Great Grandmother Sarah POPE died on 15 August, 1895 at Exford, and was buried on 20 Aug, at St Mary Magdalene, Exford. Could someone do me a favour and see if there is a headstone and if so either note the words, or better still take a  photo for me. I know she died of Pneumonia and lived at Selworthy with her husband James POPE. I live in Doncaster so it would be a bit of trip for me to go.  Thanks in anticipation.  Trevor
