Hi

Marriage, after banns, was on 13 October 1859 at St Bride's church Liverpool
Groom was John Wrigley Barnes, a bachelor whose occupation was an ornamental printer and bride was Emily Jane Williams, a spinster.

Address for both was given as 21 Renshaw Street.
Groom's father was a John Barnes (deceased) whose occupation had been as an engraver to a calico printers and the bride's father was a Samuel Williams, a book keeper.

Witnesses were Richard Griffiths and Sarah Ann Griffiths and the Minister performing the ceremony was a JW Kewley.

Hope this helps

Yes - I found 3 siblings on the IFHS - the earliest being born in 1781.  I suspect that you are right and the parents' marriage would have been too early for the records.
 Thanks for your help

Thanks very much for that link, Shane.

What information I have (William's baptism in 1786 in Ballybought and his later marriage in Kilaveney, Wicklow in 1807) is from records on the Irish History Foundation site.

I'm hoping I may find the marriage of William's parents, William and Catherine and baptisms of William's siblings.

Thanks again
Dorothy

Kildare / Flaherty & Lawler in Ballybought, Ballymore Eustace

I've recently discovered that my FLAHERTY/LAWLER ancestors were from the Townland of  Ballybought, Ballymore Eustace and would very much like to know if there are any resources I can access that might help me  to find out more about these families.

My 4 x great grandfather, William FLAHERTY was born in Ballybought in 1786 to William FLAHERTY and Catherine LAWLER. They were a Roman Catholic family and living in Ballbought Lane.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

** Not sure whether this post should have been in Co. Wicklow or Co. Kildare, as I know that Ballymore Eustace was originally part of Wicklow ??

Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / Re: St Columb Minor look-up - GODOLPHIN

Hello Gary

I don't have a great deal of information about Frances BROWNE I'm afraid - I haven't yet managed to identify a birth/baptism for her and although I have a copy of the marriage entry for her marriage to Francis GODOLPHIN I haven't found a record of her death/burial either.

My direct line is also through Ann GODOLPHIN who married Walter BOLITHO - I do have more information about Ann if that would help?

I will email you directly to see if you would like copies of the information I have.

Best wishes
Dorothy

Thanks again, LizLen for your help  :)
As you say, this twig of my tree is quite an illustrious one! The Godolphin family that Judith Ameredith married into also boasts some famous ancestors right back to William the Conqueror.

This branch of my tree is through my paternal grandmother and my father, who died early on during my family history research - before I was able to tell him that his grandmother hailed not from Ireland as he had assumed, but from Devon & Cornwall would have been quite amused I think!

Best wishes
Dorothy

Hi Lizlen

Thank you so much for all the information, for the family tree, the details about the podcast and the book - that is absolutely brilliant!  :)

I have rather left any further research on the Meredith family on the backburner for a while whilst I researched Judith Ameredith's husband's family, the Godolphins.  You have awakened my curiosity again and I look forward to researching Ashley Hall and the Merediths for some time to come.

Thank you again
Dorothy

Cheshire / Re: Dunbavand...Runcorn

Hi Red

What time frame are you looking at?  One of the executors in my 5 x great grandfather's Will was a Daniel Dunbavand, a yeoman of Keckwick (which I think was in the Runcorn parish at that time). I think that Daniel might well have been a cousin of my ancestor, John Sumner (whose mother was a maria Dunbabin).  I've seen the name written various ways including Dunbavand, Dunbavin, Dunbabin, Dunbobin.
